The receptionist was very kind, she assisted me and borrowed me her own adapter to charge my phone. And she was very kind. She's the only thing I appreciated in that hostel The cleanliness is almost non existent..the floor of the room was sticky, the bed barley done. No one comes to change the bed sheets of those who leave which made me really wonder if they even changed them for my bed..theres no way you could hide the daylight while you're in your bed. The windows are wide and have no roller blinds so you'll be forced to wake up super early or wear something on your eyes if you want to sleep. They have no towels but it's not mentioned anywhere on the website and they don't rent towels, bring yours. Also they have no adapters or lockers to rent or sell..and even if you bring your own locker..there's nowhere you could use it. You have closets to put your stuff and no guaranteed protection unlike other hostels in Europe where you can lock your own drawer. Bathroom is outside the room..in a corridor..and there's only two for the whole corridor..so can't even tell you how it was with all the men using the wrong spot to do their thing. The bed wasn't comfortable either. Oh and if you're going in the summer: they don't even have a fan.. we're not talking about AC but a simple ventilateur or a fan..no. and the room as I said has wide glass windows so be ready to fry inside.

Did not feel safe there. I was subjected to discrimination and some of my belongings were lost there.

It was a great value for money, but i would recommend it especially for solo travelers and if you are not too picky. People at reception were one of the kindest people ever. Place was reasonably clean, i stayed in a person room and right after the other person left, they changed the bedsheets and cleaned the room. It had a shared kitchen with oven, stove toaster, few plates and cutlery, but that's it. Beds were kind of okay, but the mattresses definitely had seen better times. There is nothing i particularly disliked, but i would definitely do a better initial cleaning (like wall paint from the floors). 2 of the 4 windows had a broken lock/opening mechanism, so you could not really fully close it. No soap, towels, kitchen oils, ... were provided (for me it was ok as i had my own)

They gave me a different pillow for my second night. The pillow the first night was awful and that, on top of the springs in the bed poking me - I think I only slept 1-2 hours. I ended up doubling the duvet and sleeping on top of it.

I really appreciated the warm and welcoming atmosphere at Belsize House. The staff were incredibly friendly and went out of their way to ensure a comfortable stay. The cleanliness of the rooms and common areas was also noteworthy, making for a very pleasant living environment. Additionally, the location was ideal, offering easy access to local attractions and public transportation. Honestly, there wasn't much to dislike during my stay.
