Fantastic hotel. My girlfriend and I stayed here for our anniversary and the whole experience felt really special. We were given a complimentary room upgrade on arrival, which was a lovely surprise, and the room itself was amazing — clean, comfortable and with a great view. The spa was beautiful, the facilities were spotless and every member of staff we dealt with was warm and welcoming. They also went out of their way to make our anniversary memorable. The flower arrangement was beautiful and the cake was a really nice touch — even if Jaffa Cake wouldn’t have been my first choice! Everything about the stay felt comfortable and romantic, and we genuinely had a brilliant time. I would 100% stay here again and would definitely recommend it, especially for a special occasion. The building Extremely disappointing stay – not the standard expected Unfortunately, our stay at The Courthouse Hotel was extremely disappointing, particularly considering the amount we paid and the fact that we were staying to celebrate my wife’s birthday. There were numerous issues throughout our stay, including: * The toilet running continuously throughout the night. * A leaking tap. * The shower stand falling next to my foot. Thankfully it did not hit me, but it could easily have caused an injury. * A blocked and dirty sink. * Someone entering our room at around 9am, which was completely unexpected and unacceptable. * Issues with the bed sheets. * A spa shower that was scalding hot and unsafe to use. * A steam room that smelled dirty rather than having the expected eucalyptus scent. These are not minor issues, and collectively they significantly affected what should have been a special stay for my wife’s birthday. I contacted the hotel to raise my concerns. Unfortunately, rather than offering a meaningful refund or appropriate compensation given the number and seriousness of the issues, the hotel offered complimentary cinema tickets and a cocktail. Considering the amount we paid for the room, this felt completely inadequate — particularly as the cinema experience is already something the hotel provides to guests. I am still awaiting a satisfactory response from the hotel regarding my request for a significant refund. Overall, the stay was simply not worth what we paid. I expected a much higher standard of service, cleanliness, safety and attention to detail from a hotel of this level. I would strongly encourage management to review how these issues were allowed to occur and, importantly, how customer complaints of this nature are handled.

Our experience was amazing from start to finish. The customer service was some of the best we’ve ever received. Every member of staff was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and went above and beyond to make our anniversary extra special. A special mention goes to Vlad. When we checked out, he took us up to the rooftop bar so we could have a look, as we hadn’t had the chance during our stay. He also gave us a fascinating tour of the hotel, showing us the courtroom, jail cell, and sharing the history behind it all. It was such a thoughtful gesture and the perfect way to end an already incredible stay. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would highly recommend staying here.
