The nature. And I experienced one night at the boat. Feel so good.

The staff, the location, the "beach", the food, the atmosphere... Nothing

Beautiful, comfortable and clean spot right on the river. There’s a dock for swimming, a couple sun chairs and a nice common area A little ways from the center so helpful to have a scooter or rent an e-bike to get into town. They have a solar powered boat shuttle that goes every hour but it’s a little slow

The environment is very good especially the bar. I like the staff who take care of everything so well. Thanks a lot. Will come again in the future! The upper beds are too high. Not good for specific people.

Lovely room and balcony, excellent food, sweet staff The rest of the staff was wonderful, but the owner/manager was begrudging in his willingness to help with a problem. Not the hotel’s fault, but the new hotel across the river with blaring karaoke music all evening made it unbearable to be there. We also did not realize how far from the town the hotel is.

I love the natural esthetic of the place and the comfortable beds. The staff was helpful and the rooms were clean. I like the solar paneled boat ferry to town and the swimming in the river although it was too cold for that while I was there. For the private room with the river view, it's still a bit overpriced, especially that there was no fridge or kettle in the room. We stayed in another place closer to town that had both and was about $15 cheaper. The location is a bit far from the old town area and there is a restaurant/bar directly across the river that can have loud karaoke in the evenings and then there is also a nightclub somewhere nearby so you can hear the bass thumping. But they do provide you with ear plugs which helped.

The hotel boasts lush greenery and cozy spots along a picturesque river. Boat transfers to popular tourist areas are available, and the complimentary Mekong sunset cruise was a highlight (don’t miss it!). Overall, thoughtful management, helpful staff, and a great local menu. Our family truly enjoyed and felt rejuvenated by our stay at Sa Sa Lao. Highly recommended!

Very nice location with a great view of the river. Staff were friendly and helpful. Definitely a noisy area at night but we had read the reviews in advance and had earplugs so it didn’t bother us too much!

It's next to the river and has a nice view. There are some places to hang out there. The beds in the dorm are comfortable and clean. One of the ladies at the reception was also quite friendly and helpful. The food in the restaurant was nice. The dorms are open to everyone. Even though it seems clean it does not feel clean there and in the toilets as well. The hostel is not very social, the only common area is also the restaurant and at the same time the office of the owner. He takes 6 chairs and 2 tables alone, and holds all his business talks on where he can save money in the middle of that area. They did find good ways to make money, since the prices in the restaurant are a bit pricey for a hostel.

The property is really beautiful, with a lot of plants and possibilities to sit and watch the river. Everything is made from wood and bamboo, beautiful! The possibility to make the sunset cruise is great! It would be perfect if the dorm beds had curtains for privacy. The sink was clogged for a longer periode..

The workers early in the morning a bit annoying . I understand that the work has to be done but not that early.

location is nice and also the minimalist idea of the architecture is nice and appreciable. the room was wide. no help by the desk. room never cleaned (we stayed 3 days). bad maintenance (e.g.: the shower). any soap in the bathroom. just one towel. money spent absolutely not worthy, in our case.

Very good

I liked how peaceful it was (minus the chickens clucking at night. Not the hotels fault). I like the size and cleanliness of the room. The location was good for me however a 20 minute walk from central Luang Prabang. The chickens clucking like I said however not the hotels fault. Earplugs would do the trick.
