Luang Prabang Mekong Charm River View

Nice retro building made out of teak, basic room but had all the necessary amenities, nice location near the river. Nice staff who helped with booking tours at reasonable prices. Good overall value, would stay again. Don't expect 5 star amenities but it was a comfortable stay

I recently stayed at this new hotel for two nights with my family and had a very enjoyable experience. One of the standout aspects of our stay was the exceptional service provided by the staff. Although there was only main one person on-site, they were incredibly attentive, accommodating, and went above and beyond to ensure all of our needs were met. The location is another major highlight. The hotel is conveniently situated near a variety of food options and local vendors, making it easy to explore and enjoy the surrounding area. Additionally, the property offers beautiful views of the Mekong River, which added a relaxing and scenic touch to our stay. One area that could be improved is the breakfast menu. It remained the same each day, and offering a wider variety of options would make the dining experience more enjoyable for guests staying multiple nights. I guess you get the value you pay for.

Everything and everyone

Loved the breakfast and sitting on the Mekong watching the world go by. Walking distance to all the main sights Luang Prabang has to offer. Wifi available and can book tours on site with pick ups at the door. Friendly staff. Sadly didn't get a riverview room, but was comfortable and spacious. Room at the rear with no views and balconies overlook a lot of other balconies, but not an issue with the river out the front to enjoy watching the world go by.

Next time renovations are done, a better railing for the outside steps could be installed.

We had a great stay and would definitely come back again. A special thank you to Lynn, she was absolutely wonderful from the start. She greeted us warmly, arranged transportation to pick us up and drop us off at the hotel, and was always polite, kind, and professional. She really made the experience even better. The location is excellent, very central, with everything nearby. You can sit out front and enjoy the atmosphere, and the river is just across the street which adds to the charm. Our room was spacious and comfortable, with a large king bed and even a desk where I could work, which was a big plus for me. The air conditioning worked well, the bed was comfortable, and fresh water was supplied daily. We didn’t have time to try breakfast, unfortunately, but overall the value during high season in February felt fair compared to other hotels. One honest note for travelers: if you are visiting Laos, unless you stay at a very high-end luxury resort, you may notice small imperfections in rooms, that’s part of the local experience. If you can appreciate that and focus on the overall value, comfort, and hospitality, you’ll enjoy your stay here. We kept noticing mosquitos around or in our room, but that is common for Laos.

Good location, close to everything. Lin was very helpful. We stayed 3 nights. Great shower. Good breakfast. There is no view if you face the back of the building. There is some construction noise but only during the day. Steep stairs if you are on the second floor.

Breakfast was adequate and was served across the street overlooking the river. Location was quiet and had restaurants close by.

The staff was the absolute best. Mekong Charm was the our favorite hotel of our SE Asia travels. If you stay here you will be pleased. Will stay here again. Nothing. Everything was brilliant

The manager was delightful. She cares about people and gave good recommendations, as well as made a wonderful breakfast. Pay attention and be careful on the stairs; I was handling my bag and slipped and fell because of wearing socks. But we loved the place!

Amazing!

Great location along the river and away from the crowds in the center. Majority of staff were super friendly and helpful. The room was very quiet at all times. I found the requirement to remove shoes at the entrance and walk barefoot in the hotel to be rather excessive while noting the local custom to remove shoes in certain places. One male staff member came across as a little aggressive and not very friendly.
