Mekong Riverview Hotel

The location was amazing on the river. Staff members were very nice and accommodating. Just a 10 minute walk downtown. Highly recommend.

Near the Mekong River and temples. We wanted a room with a view of the Mekong River and with that intention we picked a room with a wrap around porch. The only view we had was of other buildings in the hotel complex. Additionally it took us a day to figure out the hot tub faucet was reversed, the cold water was hot and the hot water cold.

Then staff were unhelpful. We asked for milk for our coffee / tea and we’re told they could not arrange this even though the hotel has a restaurant !!! Their is no outdoor space to walk or sit to relax. The hotel is right beside many n road very noisy.

Breakfast good with many choices and good quality food. Good staff and really peaceful outdoor seating. There was a maintenance issue that was addressed immediately upon letting them know. They were kind, professional and helpful. They Refered a great restaurant. Manda; picture included.

This is a lovely hotel with delightful old style rooms and very helpful friendly staff, with a breakfast cafe in an unbelievably wonderful location. The noise. The hotel is supposed to be in a tranquil location at the end of the peninsula. But sadly, Luang Prabang is over run with Chinese tourists. The dreadful, extremely loud karaoke boats on the Mekong mean that you are tortured by tone deaf warbling wannabe singers all afternoon and evening, and the plethora of minivans means that they keep parking outside the hotel with their engines running, waiting to pick up all these tourists. So it is impossible to relax on the balcony of your room and enjoy the peace and serenity. That has all gone now. It's very sad, and not the hotel's fault (although I think they could do something about the vans parking outside).

The Hotel is perfectly situated by the Mekong River, with a view towards the river from the room. The restaurant sits by the the river, so we enjoyed breakfast and drinks in the evening. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

The location is superb; the staff are very friendly. The property has probably seen better days; the woodwork needs a good overhaul. The room rate was overpriced for what you get; no special activities or even a welcome drink. You would expect a greater choice of food at breakfast.

Great location, balcony had good river view, although there is a road in front of the hotel and there is some sort of construction work on the river bank so not particularly quiet or relaxing The viewpoint cafe, where breakfast is taken, has a nice view The property is old and in desperate need of updating. The bathroom looks like it hasn’t been touched since the 80s and all the fixtures and fittings are old/worn/showing their age

We spent 12 glorious days at this hotel and loved every minute. The room was large with a seating area, beautiful dark woods and had a terrace with furniture that overlooked the Mekong River. It was a perfect place for our morning coffee and evening wine. The beds are imported from Sweden and were extremely comfortable. Breakfast is served in the restaurant across the street with a magnificent view of the Mekong. There is a small buffet with fruit, yogurt and breads in addition to a “made to order” menu with eggs, pancakes and noodle and rice options. I utilized the electric cart transport service into town a few times because of some arthritis issues and it was perfect. This allowed me to enjoy visiting the Temples, shops and restaurants. The best part of this property is the staff…always positive, helpful and welcoming. I’d return in a heartbeat!

Beautiful, old quarters-like hotel, shiny dark wooden floors and antique furniture. Very comfortable bed with a remote to choose angles. Balcony with a rattan table and armchairs facing the Mekong promises many magical moments. Everyone was very kind, thoughtful, and caring, doing everything they could to make the stay flawless - didnt even need to ask, they had already done it! Service at its best. There were mosquitoes in the room one night, the hotel could provide anti mosquito plug-in devices or a mosquito net over the bed. I cannot not like the free minibar given the heat, just suggesting that instead of 4 daily cans of coke and pepsi, it would be nice to have the zero sugar versions and maybe vary with a juice or two..

A wonderful hotel, frendly staff, amazing view! I highly recommend it to everyone!
