Lovely decoration, beautiful pool and nice breakfast

The design, the layout of the property compound, the architecture, the simplicity of the decoration, the pool, the gardens, the spaciousness of the rooms and the outdoor balcony space and furnishings The bathroom was not well designed, shower/bathtub combo not very functional, the lack of a bidet/water spray hose was surprising and towels were not good quality given the price of accommodation. While overall the staff were excellent, given our long stay of 8 nights, and the intimacy of the lodging, the office staff were not as warm as hoped for. There also could have been a system for reuse of towels when daily room clean, as change daily unnecessary.

The villas at Vila Maidú are a true luxury — spacious, high-quality, with big public and also private pools — and offered at a very reasonable price for the level of comfort provided. The entire staff went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. Great breakfast and services, they treated us wonderfully and even offered us a very generous late check-out. They were kind with the children, who had an amazing time throughout our stay. For families this is an ideal choice: the villas are large and well-designed, allowing for a truly relaxing and enjoyable holiday. The hotel is also perfectly located in Luang Prabang, within walking distance of the town center, or just a short tuk-tuk ride if you’re traveling with small children. Everything is spotless and beautifully maintained. Everything was perfect!

The quality and choice of breakfast. The staff are friendly. The soundproofing in the room is very poor. The people living on the upper floor make a lot of noise early in the morning. The swimming pool is too small; it's more like a bathtub. The hotel is overpriced for the quality of service. There isn't a kettle in the room, and no tea bags or coffee are provided."

Great location and wonderful staff

This was a great price option in an excellent part of town that was close to many things that I enjoyed. Although I didn’t have time to use the pool restaurant, bathtub, I’m glad it was available. The pool bar looked cosy and it has a unique shaded private patio for each unit. The bed was incredibly comfortable, western toilet, and the reception was more than welcoming. There was no phone in the room, but I was able to awaken the front desk at 5 AM and they helped me get to the airport.

Beautiful resort with a very friendly staff. Its a very calm little oasis in the sometimes busy streets of Luang Prabang. We will stay there again.

Charming old villa hotel, tucked away next to a temple. Very helpful reception staff. They managed to get us train tickets to Vientiane when Lao Trains was showing fully booked and none of the online booking platforms (12goAsia, Booking away, Baolau etc) were able to. The open-air breakfast setting was lovely. The pool was great to return to after a hot day exploring Luang Prabang. We also really enjoyed being able to use the hotel bikes to explore further afield. The Heritage rooms were quaint in the original 1920s villa building. But the stairs up to the rooms and the very creaky, uneven floors mean they're not good for those with mobility issues.

Small oasis in the heart of town, very zen and confortable

This was one of the best hotels we have ever stayed at! Such a beautiful, lush, peaceful setting - but also an easy walk into the main part of town. The room was very spacious and the bed was extremely comfortable. We enjoyed the variety of choices at breakfast each morning. The pool was spotlessly clean and really refreshing! The thing that really sets Villa Maydou apart though is the staff, who were so friendly, kind and attentive! Highly recommend staying here!

Nice place with local style, Lao local staff super nice and helpful Hotel manager and her attitude towards me. I got shouted at and treated with horrible attitude in the morning by sad girl who introduced herself as manager. She claimed that I’m late to check out despite checkout time was one hour later on my booking. She was rude and disgraceful and ruined my day and stay. It sad that nice hotel experience is ruined by angry and unprofessional person. It ruins it for local staff and owners. In Europe this would not be acceptable.
