The calmness of the neighborhood It was very dirty, no cups to drink, no facilities, no AC even though they mentioned they had one, toilets are very dirty with a very bad smell, we begged them to do an early check in after i dont know how many times of begging they accepted if we paid 15€ more

The independent check-in and check-out. The price range The sheets were dirty with visible stains and the room had mosquitos and bugs trapped inside. The walls are too thin with no insulation. Every sound around the room can be heard loud and clear, especially from the bathroom. The guests are often too loud especially during sleeping hours, with no regard to the other tenants. Would be good if the room had a normal key as well so the guests wouldn't have to take their phone to go to the bathroom. A backup just in case a guest forgot their phone in the room and got locked out.

Cheap, comfortable, great location, easy check in, everything! Not one negative

I was literally sleeping in the garage and it was very badly isolated. I could perfectly hear the conversations in the street and in the entrance of the residence during the night

While the apartment offers some of the advertised positives, unfortunately, several serious issues negatively impacted our stay. Some of the things I liked: Conveniently located near a metro station with direct and efficient access to the city center. Parking available close to the accommodation. Quiet and seemingly safe residential neighborhood in the suburbs. The room was clean, the bed and pillows were comfortable, and for the price, it was acceptable. Negatives (which sadly outweighed the positives): On our first night, at around 6 AM, we were abruptly woken by someone aggressively kicking and banging on the main door of the building, seemingly unable to enter. This went on for several minutes until someone let them in, followed by an argument outside. For guests in a foreign country, being woken like this was extremely unsettling and made us feel unsafe. The walls were paper-thin — we could hear everything: people entering the building, conversations, music, doors slamming, even the smell of cigarette smoke coming from other rooms. We arrived late at night, and although the weather was fine, there were no extra blankets available in case they were needed. We did receive an email the next day asking if we needed cleaning, extra towels, or blankets — but what if we had needed them the first night? One of the shutters was broken, preventing proper natural light from entering the room. The room door felt flimsy and insecure — it reminded me of a classroom door with a weak lock. I didn’t feel safe, and I’m certain someone could have easily forced it open. The hallway lights were always on, and the light leaked through the gaps in the door, making it hard to fall asleep. In summary: Yes, the price is relatively low for Madrid, and the metro access is a plus. But at the very least, a guest should feel safe and be able to rest — and unfortunately, that wasn't our experience. I’m giving it a 5, as there were some redeeming qualities, but after this stay, I wouldn’t return.

Close to the metro. I stayed at AYZ Ulises and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience — both before and during the stay. The check-in process is entirely remote and requires you to submit sensitive personal information (ID photo, phone number, and credit card) through a third-party website that is not affiliated with Booking.com. This immediately made me feel uncomfortable and concerned for my data privacy. The platform offers no clear privacy policy, is not GDPR compliant, and you have no idea who is handling your information. There is no staff on site. All communication is redirected to an external AI chatbot that only responds in Spanish and gives the same canned replies over and over. Trying to reach an actual human was nearly impossible. When I called the property, they hung up on me multiple times as soon as I greeted them in English. After several attempts in Spanish, someone finally answered — but they were extremely rude and unhelpful. You are completely left to figure things out on your own. The room was also a letdown. It was not clean — the sheets were visibly dirty and didn’t even cover the whole bed, and the towel I received looked used. I requested a new one, but no one ever responded. There were no extra facilities besides the shared bathroom, and they only provided a few dirty plastic cups. Worst of all, I found what looked like fecal stains near the side of the bed. Noise insulation was poor — I could hear everything from the neighboring rooms, making it hard to sleep. Access to your room is only possible through a link sent by email, so if your phone battery dies, you’re locked out. This is a huge inconvenience for travelers. Other guests mention unauthorized charges made after checkout. I can easily see how this happens, given how the system is designed — it feels set up to bypass normal protections. Overall, the experience felt shady, unprofessional, and completely disconnected from the kind of service Booking.com guests expect.

The door opened with the smart phone system. The best was ok. The customer service agent was helpful and responsive. We checked into a room with no external window, dirty linen, sticky floor, the bed half way covered the door to the private bathroom that had other peoples hairs all over the shower and floor. This was not what was advertised. After one hour on the chat, we were moved to a room that looked like the photos on the site, but with no private bathroom. The room was stinking of cigarette smoke. The walls are paper thin, so you could hear every movement from the other guests.

Beds were comfortable and price was very reasonable. Metro was easy to use to get to the hostel and once all the check-in requirements are complete, the use of the virtual room key was quite simple. Visited in April, so not as big of a problem as we could just open the window, but no air conditioning means a visit in the summer would be unbearable. Washrooms didn't feel extremely clean, but definitely passable. Location isn't ideal; 45 minutes from the city center, but the metro is quite easy to use. They overcharged me $50CAD when I reserved that I'm still disputing with booking.com so beware of extra charges.

    The bathroom where outside

  • Engine customer Jan 2025

The cleanliness, spacious bathroom. The bed is small for a couple. The weight of two people pushes us to the middle of the bed. The sheets are small for the bed. The bed sheet came off all the time, it didn’t hold on the mattress. The mirror in the bathroom is extremely low.
