Hotel Freedom

Love the receptionist Marcela, she was super helpful and give us lots of recommendations. Area, appeared a little shady at night in some spots of the barrior.

We stayed at the hotel freedom twice. The second time we got a bigger room which was better than the first night. The room was also cleaner. The bed was quite comfortable and the hotel was close to everything we needed: Restaurants, museums, Retiro Park and quaint neighborhoods.

Nothing. Worst hotel experience I've ever had. At Hotel Freedom, my friends and I (3 women, in our 20s) got screamed at and kicked into the street in the middle of the night. When we arrived, an apologetic gentleman at the reception told us that somebody else booked our room and that the hotel was booked out for the night. Because it was past midnight, we couldn't make a reservation elsewhere on Booking. So my 2 friends went out into the night, walking door to door to find a hotel that will have us (most hotels were fully booked due to the marathon happening that weekend), while I stayed behind at the hotel, calling Booking internationally to find a place to stay. Booking needed to contact said hotel over the phone before they could help me. I heard the phone at the reception ring multiple times. I approached the reception, begging them to pick up the call from Booking, and they vaguely told me to tell Booking to call them again. Sure enough, the Booking agent calls again, then emails the hotel. No response. Frustrated, I approach the reception desk to ask them again, at 1:30am, to respond to Booking, and that's when the hotel manager comes out, scolding me to hang up with Booking so that “he can contact them”. I sit back down and wait. They do no such thing. When my friends find another hotel room and come back to get me, the older manager comes out again, screaming at us "you know you can't spend the night here", "get out or I will call the police." Having an older dude scream at you and your 2 girlfriends in a foreign country, in the middle of the night, was terrifying and unnecessary. This hotel messed up, double booked our room, refused to help us, and the manager screamed and threatened to call the police on us on our way out. If you’re considering staying here, I recommend reading the reviews on Google Maps first, reviews of other people, other women, who have gotten the same treatment that we have gotten.

Very unpleasant stay. The room was dirty, with hairs everywhere especially in the bed. The AC didn’t work for heating, so it was cold. It felt unhygienic and not properly cleaned. I had to leave after one night and wasn’t refunded for the second night. Would not recommend.

Location, staff The heating was not getting controlled along with that smart tv was not working for any applications so had to use the mobile instead of tv. Towels was smelling like gasoline or some insulin shot??. But staff was good

The staff was not greatest, at least the staff covering the afternoon/evening shift. When I arrived, I was running late for the theater, so I asked for directions (basically where to walk when getting out of the hotel), and the response was "look it up in your mobile in Google Maps."

Our room view was on the court. So No view at all.

The location is great! The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel is clean. The rooms are a little small.

When I checked in, the person in front of me didn’t speak English very well. And told me my room was cancelled. It’s only after 10 min of discussions that he understood that only 1 room was cancelled by me and the 2nd one was still booked. And after that, some issues with the payment. I had to pay directly the hotel. And once done, I got a cancellation by the hotel via Booking. What a big mess.

The room was spacious and clean, with high ceilings. Although the staff didn’t speak much English, they were very helpful and managed to assist with every request we had. The modern style of the hotel and its location—right next to the metro station—were also a big plus!

Really great value for money. For me, breakfast and minibar/fridge is not important, and that’s the only difference. Nice room without carpet which I love, close to everything, also some great cafées etc. very friendly staff. Some of them don’t speak English, but we used google translate if I had questions.

Excellent location, close to shops, restaurants and tourist attractions, very comfortable beds, great shower, surprisingly very quiet despite being close to all the major attractions, had a excellent nights' sleep, highly recommended, great value for money. Friendly and helpful staff. Nothing not to like
