Fantastic location! No air conditioning

I liked having a room to sleep in. It was too hot, the ac wasn’t cold enough. Couldn’t even move it. The fan and window didn’t help much in the beginning of June. Bathroom was very small, shower looked moldy. Stairs are worn down, so be careful.

Convenient location, great shower. Lots of stairs that are old. Power went out at night so no ac or fan, the room gets very hot.

Very clean. Nice staff. Nice bathroom with shower with a shelf. Comfy beds. Great location. 4th floor. Stairs a little rough. Extra blanket would've been nice.

Location It had a smell

Dolce Vita supplies almost everything they specify in their listing but the photos didn't convey an accurate impression of our double room (#302). Rather than "bright and comfortable" and "colorful", we were initially shocked at how drab and cramped our attic room was. The bathroom has a sloping ceiling which requires care by tall people. There are two small windows, high above our heads, opened and closed electrically to an oblique view of the sky. All 3 electrical outlets were occupied by room lamps, so you need a plug strip to connect your devices without reducing lighting. Management may supply strips on request, we didn't ask. The listing should make it clear that access is via 6 or 7 flights of stairs from the street, which would be too much for some guests. My wife arrived at the front desk totally breathless. The manager, perhaps fearing the need for a 112 (911) call, assisted her with the luggage on the final ascent to the room. On the plus side, the staff is friendly and helpful (although we encountered no English speakers), they have a guest refrigerator and microwave, and they supplied kitchenware on request. Their actual kitchen is off limits to guests. We were unaware of the roof terrace and thus didn't see it. Arriving by car is difficult. You can get out of the traffic lane, barely, but we were scolded by other drivers during our brief unloading. Unlike many cities, there seems to be absolutely no cost-free parking within kilometers, so I settled for the nearby discounted garage. The Dolce Vita staff told me the discount is 50%, but at 18.15€/24 hours, it's actually only 27%. Be sure you know the vehicle environmental restrictions in Madrid. Personally, I felt Dolce Vita was too expensive (72€/night for 2, Thu/Fri, late February, without parking), but it is in the active Madrid centro and perhaps we got the worst room in the place, which my wife commented would be perfect for a secret tryst [grin]. The failure to mention access via 7 flights of stairs is clearly deceptive. Their Accessibility statement, "Upper floors accessible by stairs only" is very close to a lie since the hotel is ONLY on the 3rd and 4th floors.

Terrible bed, sunken in the middle. Very noisy and lacking in privacy: you can clearly hear other guests' conversations and other noises as well. The personnel are careless when moving around with loud music while cleaning the neighboring rooms in the morning. Additionally, the property lacks an elevator, and it is located on the 4th level. With the stairs being old, crooked, and slippery, you risk slipping when carrying your luggage up them.

Location, very clean

The staff was friendly and kind. The location is amazing, very close to what you need for a short stay. The room. It smelled bad and it had humidity. To the point that we had to sleep on our bed's foot because we have drops falling in our faces.

The room was comfortable, clean and had everything I needed. The staff there were very friendly and helpful. The location is great, very easy to get to all the sights of Madrid from there. I will definitely be visiting again in the future! The only "problem" is the stairs leading up to the rooms. Personally they weren't a problem for me, but they could be for someone with mobility issues.

Great value and location. Small room but clean and everything works! If you are travelling with large suitcases be prepared to use STAIRS to the 4th floor. Rooms will indeed be super hot during summer , it is Madrid after all.

The location is very good This property is suitable for anyone with heavy language, because it’s on the 3rd floor and there is no lift

Just one shower and toilet for all the guests, so you had to wait in line to use it (it wasn't that bad, but if you plan to leave at a certain time this has to be considered). Decoration was a bit kitsch in my taste. It was a 4th floor without elevator, it wasn't a problem in our case but it has to be considered.

On the downside, the room had no air conditioning, making it quite uncomfortable during hot weather. There's a ceiling fan, but it can be noisy. The windows overlook a busy nightlife street, so it might get loud at night. Overall, the room felt a bit outdated.
