Everything was great, the place was very clean and the staff were very helpful. I'm not used to hostel systems, so when I arrived, I didn't find a proper reception area; the doors were closed. The reception was on the second floor, so I felt a little scared. Then a passerby helped us, and everything was fine. I really appreciate the helpful Spanish people. I'm so happy I visited Spain.

Location is great A bit tired, felt like staying at grandma’s. The key situation is a bit tiresome, needing to leave the key, requiring you to buzz every time you return.

Good location Smoke smell throughout the property and when I asked to get a refund I was confronted by staff about my sensitivity.

Location was great The receptionist didn't speak English. It's very hard to communicate. The room AC was preset. The fan didn't work.

Location was great Room is small and you dont dont have free independant access to the room. You need someone to leave the key at the counter when you leave, and have someone buzz you in to get back in. You not allowed to bring guests.

There were bed bugs on my bed and when I told the owner of the hostel she told me that because Im mexican I was the one that probably brought the bed bugs with me. Of course no refund, no change of rooms, no desinfectation. Just those kind of comments from the old lady. Really dissapointed.

Great location and good value for money. Staff is friendly and attentive. As mentioned in other reviews, the sheets could use a replacement. And it is a bit noisy from other rooms but what can you expect in the absolute centre of Madrid. These are old buildings and walls.

The location is perfect and the staff is kind and helful They should put more attention to the cleanliness (even though there was a cleaning service every day). The sheets and the towers were very old and looked dirty even if they were just changed. Also, it is very noisy especially with the doorbell ringing during the night.

Disappointing

The facility is old; the bathroom display was uncomfortable and extremely narrow, towels overused and smelly. The person at the front desk (juan) during my first night there was not very helpful at first when I asked for the control to turn the AC in the room. He even lied to me, saying he didn't have access to it, until I showed him the booking description where clearly said the AC would be on until October 15th, then the control magically appeared ?... after that, I just suck it up until I checked out (great thing I just booked 2 nights).
