RC Hotel Melaka

Loved the location, next to the river and very close to Jonker street. Hotel staff were friendly and room was clean with a view of the river below. It was very quiet though the property is next to the river n the road. bathroom could have been better, the door couldnt be locked from outside n the glass door kept opening while water after shower spilled into hand wash area with no way to stop it. However size of the bathroom was good and water pressure was great.

Location smack by the river, very convenient. Strategic for walkabout to Jonker Street and about town. Bed was comfortable and had good TV program options The balcony was very high, obstructed the river view when seated. Balcony was unappealing. Could also be more clean as there were used slipper in the balcony and hair in the bathroom. Overall it was a good value for money choice

----------- Location. Comfortable bed, pillows, quilt. Clean. Shower works very efficiently. Ac super efficient. Balcony by river(some rooms). Friendly girls at reception. Ms Zarina always smiling & willing to help. Many eateries close by, some open for brkfst at 7am. Bads -------- No Restaurant, no catering. Reception not efficient enough. Steel safe inactive, no one knows how to fix this small problem or don't care. Hotel furnished with distasteful furniture in lobby. No furniture in other public areas, wearing a sad/barren look. TV not connected to internet/no YouTube or.. Overall- Good, worth the price. Only wish they had a small rstrnt for breakfast.

The location is good and walking distance to Jonkers Street but the lack of a hotel carpark facility is troublesome if you're travelling by car as the neighbourhood has limited street parking and carparks The reception staff and housekeeping service we received during our entire stay was unpleasant and frustrating. Upon checking in we were presented with a bill that was higher than the price advertised and agreed to when making the booking as there were extra VAT and service charges slapped on. This has never happened to us before when booking with booking.com. The room we got was an Executive Suite Riverview with balcony. Sounded lovely but it was in fact quite disappointing. 1. The king size bed only came with 2 pillows and when we requested for 2 more we were initially told that's not possible. When we insisted, we were told extra charges would be incurred. Even after agreeing to the charges, it took half an hour to get extra pillows 2. The shower cubicle was not properly insulated so water would flood into the rest of the bathroom rendering it icky, slippery and unsafe 3. The balcony wall is high so no riverview unless you stand at the edge and look down Overall, we had a very disappointing experience staying here
