Super good location with the beach and park within a 4 minute walk and felt clean in bathrooms. It is not a hostel. Definitely feels more like a bed and breakfast, and has no social activities or common room for guests at the “hostel”, no kitchen either. Staff was okay, but not very friendly, no volunteers working there either.

Folks are really kind there is no A/C and you are paying 40 dollars for a room with no tv, no bathroom

This place was great! This is such a charming place. All the glowing reviews talking of Oscar and the staff are completely earned by all the hard work of the staff! We stayed there a week. They work so hard keeping things very clean (they clean the bathrooms ALL day long.) The food was great. Breakfast very nice. Location - excellent! You are steps just around the corner from the beach AND you just don't get all the noise from the main strip. We liked that part. Wifi worked great. Oscar, Helen, and all the staff work so hard to make it a nice place for travelers of all ages. Thank you for a great stay!

Friendly helpful staff, great options for breakfast and the restaurant meals were very good too. The door to the women’s toilet/shower area didn’t automatically close and was often left open so exposing you when you get out of the shower
-
The one issue was the lack of air conditioning (there was a strong fan in the room).

Oscar was phenomenal!!!

Oscar was very caring and looking after everyone at the hostel . The location is superb, the breakfast included is very generous w unlimited coffee. I had a private room w shared bathroom, gets a little hot at night even though it has a fan but in general it’s comfortable and perfect for a short stay Everything was fine

Hotel is locked at night which feels safe. Close to the park and beach Don't leave cash colones anywhere in your room!! I doubt I miscounted 200.000 colones 2 times after getting new cash... maybe some room keys fit on more doors? The staff is awesome...just don't leave it in your room hidden in your suitcase.first time I thought I must have mistaken but didn't know where on earth I spend so much in 2 days...2 nd time... don't leave colones in your room

Amazing location. Steps from the beach as well as the entrance to the Park. Oscar and his staff we so welcoming and wonderful. A nice treat to have breakfast each morning. Beds were comfortable and very clean.
-
No hot water (known when I booked). Shared wash facilities.
-
Very good location, wonderful host, good breakfast. Everything you need for a visit to the national park.
-
Location, location, location!!!!! Minutes walk to Park or Beach. Plus the personal attention of Sr. Oscar - pure Pura Vida. Oscar moved us downstairs when he saw I was on crutches. Good breakfast.
-
Amazing welcome by Oscar! Got us into our room and checked out on showers, keys, breakfast etc. Room was a little hot and stuffy with the way the window was screened/covered over.

Great location, great staff, good restaurant, clean facilities, and overall the great choice:).

Everything! Good value for the area (walking distance to Manuel Antonio park), good vibes, kind and helpful staff, friendly and helpful owner/manager, beautiful hostel with plants and trees in the courtyard, restaurant with good food open until 8:30pm, free big breakfast with my booking “genius” level, room is clean, shared bathrooms are clean, and the shower is a perfect lukewarm-cool temperature that it refreshes you in the day but isn’t too cold for a night-time shower. In the courtyard there is also an outdoor shower/foot spigot to wash the sand off your feet and body after a day at the beach. The fan in the room is strong enough to provide relief from the heat. And the iguanas that hang out at the entrance are entertaining! I will stay here again should I return to Manuel Antonio. Not a big complaint, just know that after sunset when everyone comes back from the beach, there can be a wait to use the women’s showers since there are only 2 communal showers in the women’s bathroom (I don’t know how many are for men). But, that was the only time I had to wait to use a shower, and it didn’t take a long time. And, if one is uncomfortably covered in sand, they can rinse off in the outdoor shower in the courtyard as they wait for the regular shower.

Everything was wonderful. Oscar the manager was super helpful. The only issue for me was the lack of hot water. And just one bathroom was completely private. But it was available. Irs also not really a hostel , in that there is no area for guests to cook and store food.

Restaurant is fantastic. Staff is very friendly. The room is good size and clean. But I am not sure whether the detergent or pesticide smell in it. It says after 8pm should be quiet. Not all travellers abide and someone were chatting loudly all night till 3 am ?, even though this is not property issue.

There is no hot water for shower. Just a fan inside the room and it would be a bit warm and humid.
