Beautiful historical very classic Beautiful

The place is beautiful, an old traditional house with a magnificent view of the Mesopotamian plain. For the price, the rooms should be cleaned every day, not every 2 days. The staff at breakfast should learn at least the very basic words in English to provide service, like “milk”, “bread” and “napkin”.

The hotel is housed in a very old building, tastefully decorated, with every corner telling a story from history. The staff is courteous and friendly, and the rooms offer a great view of the Mesopotamian plains. There were a couple of minor issues in the room. The sink tap was wobbly, the bottom side of the sink was exposed, and there was a hole in the wardrobe.

The location was perfect for someone what to discover the city and walk in the old city and enjoy the history. The staff were very nice. There a nice restaurant inside the hotel with Mardin vibe, and delicious food. NA

Absolutely everything! Location, food, staff, cleanness, atmosphere, unique historic building. Nothing!

It was a historical and mystic place which we loved so much!!! The staff were wonderful and helpful anytime we needed. The room was clean and spacious. The location was central to the main places so we didn’t need a car to travel around. Nothing. It was all beautiful!

I’m an older solo backpacking traveller, &, staying at the Maridin Konagi Hotel for 5 nites, has been one of the highlights of my 2-month journey so far. The property is like a museum. Even B4 check-in, I was welcomed & greeted by its valet Şerif who carried my backpacks to reception (and then to my room). At reception, I was once again welcomed with a warm smile & shown all the amenities of the hotel by the staff member on duty, Bunyamin. Şerif speaks perfect English and was able to translate everything, all altruistically. The two were a wealth of local information, & offered me tea (cay) every time I passed thru the lobby (along with excellent conversation). I felt like a local. The facilities were typically limestone-ish Mardin-ish. Great location, room was spacious & airy, shower was consistent with all degrees of water temperature. The property has a busy terrace restaurant at night with live local music. And also a filling Turkish breakfast. And very close by on same street are good espresso-style new modern cafés (coffee shops), if Turkish coffee is not your thing). In sum, I recommend this property without hesitation & with complete enthusiasm. If you do stay here, make sure to engage in a chat with Şerif to find out anything local. I hope to a return to Maridin Konagi next year. There was nothing to dislike.
