Hotel Elio

Our stay at Hotel Elio was excellent. Every member of the staff was incredibly kind—each one more welcoming than the last. We truly felt at home during our stay and will definitely be returning.

The food was good, although there were very few options for vegetarians (me). My wife and daughter ate the fish and meat, which they said was good, while I ate everything on the menu that was possible for vegetarians, which was bruschetta, fries, salad, cheese mix, and fried mushrooms. All were good, but it was disappointing that there was not one main dish that did not have meat or fish in it - I could only choose from antipasti and contorni. The staff were inattentive to us, and did not seem to know how to run a hotel. There was nobody at reception upon arrival, and many staff walked past me without asking if I needed anything. Eventually the manager arrived with a perplexed look on his face and an attitude, as if I had done something wrong. His tone of voice suggested he was irritated that I was not a restaurant customer, he was surprised that he had a hotel booking and went to find his book to find the details. Upon finding two bookings from Bookings.com, he assumed they must have both been from me. His manner throughout dealing with me was sorely lacking. When he saw our pet dog, he made a face as if to say he was not pleased to see that we had a dog, even though we specifically filtered our search for hotels that welcomed pets, and we even sent a message to make sure of this over a month ago. The cleanliness of the hotel was sorely lacking. Upholstery on the dining room chairs were torn and there was dust everywhere. When we went downstairs to order a pizza on the first night, nobody came to take our order, we had to stop a passing waitress who called her manager, who was sitting down to eat and got up to take the order. When the pizzas were served, we again had to interrupt a staff member who was eating, to pay for our meal. Throughout the stay, the overall feeling was one of neglect and being left to our own devices. The running of the hotel seemed very unprofessional. There were not even napkins on the tables in the dining room, and when we asked for them, they were dirty, as were the glasses. The dining room staff, while friendly, were not very professional. They would call across the room to customers at the table to add to their orders, and shouting between the staff members was a frequent occurrence. When I asked for a second glass of wine, rather than bring me another one, the waiter took my glass, which was still one-thirds full, and disappeared to the kitchen to top it up.

Angelo, Carmela and the staff was really nice to us. The restaurant is excellent, wonderful pizza, food and amazing value for money.

We like the service. We have a few trips planned and we were not able to attend breakfast. Elio and his colleague made us a panini to go. Also he prepared the best Aperol Spritz, cappucino and tea ? Even though Elio doesnt speak english, he was able to communicate with us through voice translator. He helped us with airport transport at 4 am, he managed to call taxi for us. My boyfriend tasted the best spaghetti with lobster and other sea food in the hotel restaurant. We had the best view from room directly to Mount Vesuvius. Amazing vacation!

the hotel a bit old style but it provides everything as a hotel. not much left for Breakfast in you arrive late. The restaurant in the hotel provided traditional food including Pizza and Pasta for very reasonable price. They even have Netflix ! far from Naples, need to walk and take train. A bit out dated and wifi does not work vey week some times.

Good spacious room. Good hotel. Basic facilities. Good customer service who are very helpful. Train is 20 minute walk from the hotel. Train to Naples is another 30 minutes. Train after every one hour. Angelo was very helpful. Fridge was not working. Staff could not speak English so difficult to communicate.

The restaurant and pizzeria is brilliant and very good value for.money. the staff is very kind Angel offered to drop me off to the station in Napoli since I had an early train. Room was kept tidy and clean throughout the stay. Wi fi service but I did not chase that up too much since I had good hot spot on my phone
