Stylish rooms with great bedding 2 blocks from the rail and bus station and an easy 10-minute walk down to the central waterfront. Charming hostess with superb recommendations and delicious breakfast including homemade yogurt. I enjoyed meeting other guests over tea in the morning. Excellent AC and fast wifi, and surprisingly quiet, given the location. Marseille has lots of stairs! Rooms in this B&B are not accessible for people with mobility issues. Guest rooms are on 3rd or 4th floor up an elegant but steep staircase. (Caroline and her crew helped with my bags.)

Strategically placed just across the street from the railway station, but astonishingly calm and clean. Access uncomplicated, by access code and key found immediately in an envelope on the desk. Within 12 minutes I could rejoin the marina area on foot, on not too spooky narrow streets, and cowardly returned by subway after nightfall, knowing the "reputation" of Marseille. Room was small but had all it needs, good shower and a very silent AC unit (I saw much worse than that in 4star hotels). It offers a good breakfast downstairs - nice surprise before departure. Not that I didn't like - because I had no heavy luggage - but the "stairway to heaven" in the house is really sporty: pushing a 25kg bag upstairs would be quite a challenge for any non-ironman.

This was my second time staying here. I like the overall vibe that Caroline has created and she serves a really good breakfast with locally sourced fresh and/ or homemade ingredients. The location (about 100m from the St Charles station) is also good if you're traveling by train. Unfortunately there was been a lot of night construction in the area

Beautiful small place, perfectly located near the train station, we were able to walk to most of the nice places in Marseille. We had the most spacious room with private bathroom and a nice balcony, but there is alot of stairs to reach our room on the top floor. The owner is a beautiful lady and very helpful, we had nice conversations with her during breakfasts, she recommended things to us and helped us reserving restaurants. She is amazing. Breakfast is a simple French one, could have more options, but its alright. Nothing to complain about.

Breakfast was incredible in company of Caroline, the owner, serving espresso, croissants/bred, home-made or local marmelades, yogurts The area around the train station is not super super friendly but nonetheless very convenient.

Everything about the Casa Ortega has real character, from the red walls and stairways to the vintage flamenco LPs framed on the walls. The breakfast area is charming, and the owner Caroline engages with her guests during breakfast -- she gave me great tips on local restaurants and customs. The Casa Ortega has a personal, welcoming atmosphere, much appreciated in a city this big. My room was a pleasant, quiet retreat from all the heat and excitement of Marseille after long days of touring the city. The hotel is a convenient few minutes' walk from the train station but just far enough away from it, too. It's only about a 15-minute walk down the nearby Rue de Athene to the center of town and the Old Port. Highly recommended! There is occasionally noise from the street outside, but it died down before midnight and I wasn't much disturbed by it.

The breakfast was very good (yummy expresso, viennoiseries, home made yogurt and jams, fresh bread)and Caroline, the hostess was always very helpful to give recommendations for the day and chat in general. The room, well decorated, was pleasant with ac and wifi and available water and coffee/tea, every day cleaned. I think everything was marvelous. It is a small maison d’hôtes with 6 rooms and one should just have expectations of what they book. Well located next to the train station, it only takes 8mn walking to the vieux port.
