Staycity Aparthotels, Marseille, Centre Vieux Port

The location is good, 10 minutes walk to Vieux Port although at night it gets quiet and lonely around the hotel - I think it was safe anyway. There is no housekeeping. We were told that on stays 7 days and more they make cleaning on day 4 and then every 7th day and if we needed anything we should ask the reception. We asked for towels on day 3 and the receptionist told us to bring the old towels and when we did he gave us new towels. It would be great if there was at least a basic housekeeping service.

Location is ok. Staff is good. Parking is good For the sofa-bed they provide a extra layer for better comfort Bedroom was full of FLIES !! Disgusting! Bedroom had a bad smell

Price to quality ratio of this hotel was fantastic. You get a big studio apartment, with a full kitchen (cooker, microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker, large fridge etc) for the price of a tiny hotel room in other places nearby. There are three large supermarkets located within a 5 minute walking distance, so getting stuff to make in the kitchen is easy and cheap. They also provide all the plates, glasses, cutlery and pots needed, as well as dishwasher tabs to wash those after your stay. The location is very central, close to the Old Port (5 minute walk)and all other attractions and also the train station (also five minute walk), from which you can travel to nearby towns. Bus and metro stops are in front of the hotel and a tram spot is a 3 minute walk, so also all transport options close by. Staff are very nice and welcoming. The cleanness was great. The hotel is clearly not brand new, but the room, was refurbished recently and in the kitchen many appliances did seem brand new. We had a room in the back of the hotel facing a residential building, so it was very quiet every night, despite a location in the center of a big city. Nothing negative, was great, especially for the price.

Lovely room, in great shape and very well equipped. Breakfast was very good, staff friendly and attentive. Noisy area at times during the day.

Close to the old port and close to public transportation. I bought an expensive wine at the front desk which was bad.

Location close to St Charles train station as well as restaurants and grocery stores and Vieux Port / Le Panier neighbourhoods. Clean accommodation and VERY comfortable bed. Kitchenette facilities were adequate, appreciated the Nespresso-type coffee machine. 24 hour front desk is quite rare for apartment style accommodation; appreciated that. A few more hooks or shelves in the bathroom for storing toiletry bags. An upholstered armchair to sit on rather than on the bed or on the metal dining chairs. Had difficulty adjusting the HVAC to a comfortable room temperature; was always too much heat so we slept with the HVAC off.
