Alpinias Bed and Breakfast

Lydie is an incredible host! She graciously welcomed me for four days, and I can confidently say she’s now at the top of my list of the most enjoyable, warm-hearted, and hospitable hosts I’ve ever met. The room and bathroom were absolutely clean and comfortable—like a cozy little nest! I didn’t speak any French, but that didn’t throw a wrench in our communication; we mostly relied on translation apps and some comedic charades! Lydie was also an excellent tour guide for all the places to explore in Marseille. I could reach out to her with any questions at any time—she was like my personal concierge! The house has some rules, but don’t worry; they actually enhance your comfort, almost like a secret recipe for a cozy stay. And let me tell you about breakfast! The delicious spreads and homemade jams were a feast for the senses. It wasn’t just a plate of food; it was an experience! Plus, as a certified sleepyhead, Lydie even pushed breakfast time to 9 AM for me, making me feel pampered. Location-wise, it’s a dream! You can easily stroll to most central spots. For places a little further away, public transport is super close and convenient. Overall, it was a perfect experience. If you’re looking for a place to stay, I wholeheartedly recommend this gem. My rating? A flawless 10/10—can't find a single flaw! Oh, and I’m so happy to have met you, Lydie! You're a real treasure! Nothing!!

Very clean and comfortable, I felt very safe at Lydies house. She made a lovely breakfast and was a wonderful host. Would have been nice to have a small lamp in the room rather than only over head lighting.

Fab B&B near the Marseille Velodrome. Was close to the Metro and Bars too. Lydie is really nice, and she makes amazing Breakfasts :-) So nice.

The breakfasts were delicious and I appreciated having air conditioning in the bedroom. It was close to the football stadium and convenient to walk to.

No elevator or anybody to help with luggage. For single traveller in older age group was not good . It said room is on first floor but it is on the second floor. Breakfast very limited. Owner doesn’t speak English, even though it said she /he does.

Location was excellent for the Stade Velodrome, the walk from Alpinias is short and allows you to savour the whole match day experience. I was not the only person staying for the match. The property is well managed, very clean, and the hosts are very accommodating. The local transport is great, but the walk into the city is very straightforward. I am definitely looking to return to Marseille for the football, and Alpinias will be my first port of call. Easily exceeds expectations, Unfortunately I didn't get to sample the breakfast, but the good reviews speak for themselves! Next time.. I have included photo of the outside of the premises, as Google maps was not the most accurate, but this is out of the control of the wonderful hosts!

The host Lydie is an excellent cook, her breakfast is homemade and delicious, different everyday. She is very kind and tries her best to accommodate her guests. She keeps the apartment very clean. The bathroom was spacious and has a modern mirror that I liked a lot. This two floor bed and breakfast has only two rooms for guests so you feel very VIP. Totally recommend. It's a little far away from the city centre and the beautiful old port. Other than that it's a great choice to stay, and it's close to the velodrome!

Location was reasonably close to the city centre. Only 2 guest rooms, so sharing bathroom facilities was manageable. Shocking old/dirty front door to access the building. Nice breakfast (egg and avocado) on one day, sweet cakes 2nd day (less welcome). Language difficulties.

The main front door entrance was very poor, untidy and unfortunate as gives a very poor first impression even tho the flat (on the 1st and 2nd levels) was very tidy
