I especially liked the location of the hotel - in the Sassi but not in the midst of all of the chaos - the staff - so so kind especially Luca at the reception - and the breakfast - with many homemade goodies. The hotel is an "albergo diffuso" and obviously there are architectural limitations in Matera but sleeping in the Sassi can feel a bit suffocating as there is not much light coming in - anyway it is an experience so I would not say it is a negative aspect.

The property has a wonderful location and beautiful rooms. Very clean. It is challenging to get your bag to the hotel but the porters are excellent with helping.

Room & accommodations wonderful & beautiful decor. Matera is magical, a high point of our trip, a must see for sure. Breakfast very good & staff knowledgeable & helpful. A lot of walking due to terrain but doable. Dinner at the hotel underwhelming

It brought us to the cave environment but with comfort and great support. The breakfast was simple but fresh and tasty. The staff were very committed to help us in every aspect and needs. The air conditioning at the cave was not so strong. At night, it was a little warm, but not something crazy.

Nice rooms, quiet, delicious homemade pastries for breakfast (but we need more vegetables, fruit and berries) Restaurant - we didn’t like our dinner (the meat was tough). I told the hotel staff several times that it was my husband's birthday, but they even begrudged him a piece of cake as a gift and offered to buy him a bottle of champagne for 50 euros in the room This is not a 4 star hotel ?

The location was amazing and the room decor was stunning, staff was extremely helpful. Breakfast in the restaurant in the caves was amazing with all home made and local produce. Would definitely stay there again. Bravo. Nothing to report
-
The staff was extremely helpful. They coordinated with the parking garage company and provided us a takeaway breakfast since we were leaving prior to the breakfast service time.
