Everything was excellent. The property was spotless and very comfortable. The location was perfect, close to all the main attractions while still being peaceful. The host was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always available to help. The amenities were great, the bed was very comfortable, and everything was exactly as described. We had a fantastic stay and would definitely come back. Highly recommended! Nothing. Everything was perfect. We had a wonderful stay and couldn’t find anything to complain about.

This is what Italian hospitality looks like. We were so well taken care of by the owner. He met us to show us where to park and drove us with all of our luggage to the sassi. He gave us all the tips about things to do. The accommodation was so sweet and in an amazing location walkable to everything. Breakfast was incredible- I just wish I didn't get full so I could have kept eating the amazing cheeses, salami, pastries, fruit, juice, cappuccino, you name it. I just wish I spoke better Italian to communicate a little better but we got by just fine. We really felt like part of the family. I wouldn't change a thing.

After help from Aldo, with parking, everyt was fabulous!! The breakfast, Rosa and Aldo was amazingly gorgeous and delicious! Location was absolutely perfect. Definitely very kind hosts. We recommend this to anyone staying in Matera. Pls review where to park and when. We were very confused on the parking. We knew not to park at BnB , but not able to read Italian, I made a confusing situation. Aldo ki ndly and gently helped us!!! Thank you

We had a wonderful stay in the Sassi. Aldo was the perfect host picking us up at the bus station and dropping us off. Breakfast was the best we’d had in Italy. We liked everything about the property.

Aldo and Rosa are the sweetest Italian couple. They go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. Our room was cozy with a spacious bathroom. The breakfast was the best we had in Italy! Try everything at breakfast. The place is convenient to everywhere in Sassi.

And yes, breakfast was the icing on the cake ?

The host and the location Stairs inside the apartment to the bedroom, but couldn’t be helped as the apartment is very old, as are all in the Sassi.

Great location. The couple that host were amazing and helped us so much between transportation to and from the bus and we also lost a bag on yhe bus and he was able to retrieve it. That had a great breakfast each morning as well Typically house that was comfortable. We were here during a heat wave so a fan would be nice for the upper beds. I imagine if it’s wasn’t 100 degrees it would be fine though

It was an even more amazing experience than I expected. I can’t fully express how wonderful it was. You absolutely have to stay here—don’t miss it!

Exceptional location in the heart of Sassi di Matera, our host Aldo and Rosa welcomed us as one of the family. Language barriers aside, they personally greeted us in Matera, provided transportation into historic Sassi to our accommodation - a wonderfully maintained apartment with all the furnishings of home, immaculately maintained. The breakfast spreads are incredible, and feature homemade breads and tarts. What's more, they always insisted we take away treats for later in the day. By far our 3 day stay in Matera was the highlight of our 2.5 week visit to Italy.

I booked Sax Barisano for my parents (70+), and they were absolutely delighted. They met with incredible kindness and generosity, the accommodation itself is wonderful and authentic, in the very heart of Matera. Thank you so much for everything!

Aldo and Rosa were absolutely wonderful. Breakfast was delightful. Aldo picked us up from the bus and brought us back to our darling apartment. He also took us back to get the bus to Bari. We loved it! NA

Great location. Every facility needed. Lots of bottles of water in fridge. Very comfortable and clean. Super breakfast and Aldo and Rosa were fantastic hosts. Prepared great breakfasts, shared stories and advised on touring Matera. A truly wonderful stay Nothing
