Great location and comfortable beds!

Great location right on dogs onsen and surrounding area. Clean room and facilities. Staff were very kind and friendly. Great value for money. Toilets are located on the first floor which was a bit inconvenient

I liked the location. It was just a few minutes from Dogo Onsen and other onsens, the park, and other attractions. The host was also very kind and responsive. The common area was also quite cozy. And the area was really quiet and peaceful. I didn't like that the only restroom was located on the first floor.

Cozy, homey hostel. Living room area downstairs was a delight. I liked the decor - truly felt like I was in someone's home. The owner spends time downstairs and it's easy to spend time talking to him or doing your own thing. His family lives on the 3rd floor. Cute signs everywhere that the owner's wife helped draw. Cinnamon was the owner's Golden Retriever - there's an album in the living room with pictures of the dog and how they built the hostel. Fantastic location. This is where you want to stay in Matsuyama. Dogo Onsen is right nearby. Bathroom is downstairs. I kept prolonging my stay here because it was so homey. Large fridge. Kitchen area well stocked. You have to pay to rent a towel. I really enjoyed it - it's not the fanciest hostel but I really liked it.

The beds in the male dorm were very creaky - so disturbing noises all night due to which I couldn’t sleep :-/

Location, ambience, owner

Owner was kind, caring and always willing to help. The location was great being so close to many temples and other interesting sites. Guesthouse had a good kitchen to make your own meals. Free coffee and tea. No place to put frozen foods.

The fact that the bathroom was only on the first floor (dormitory was on the second floor) and you also have to walk through the common area to get there. Also when you have the top bed, there isn't really space around your head to put your stuff.

I love how friendly the owner is. The place is located around the Dogo Onsen area so it’s quite lively and exciting. I have to make it clear we were in the family room which is separated from the male/female dormitory style beds. The family room is a tatami style room and it was spacious, clean and comfortable. Booking this room enabled us to have a separate private washroom on the third floor, which was convenient since the rest of the shared washrooms are on the first floor. I personally didn’t have any dislikes about the place.

Cinnamon was the perfect one night stay for me and my partner. I was fortunate to be the only female in my room but think it would have been very comfortable with others as well. The location can’t be beat- only 5 minute walk from the Dogo Onsen. The staff was incredibly nice and helpful.
