Rooms are very tiny

Luxury hotel with excellent food options especially breakfast. Room was a little cramped. Will pay extra for a larger room in the future.

The room was nice, modern furnishing and design, very clean, the restaurant space and the lobby were also very well designed. The swimming pool was warm. The are only 6 chairs at the swimming pool and it is fairly small. The bar next to the pool was closed.

What we enjoyed the most was the staff. Their professional an very friendly attitude,,made our stay so wonderful. They deserve a 10. We didn’t enjoy the food we had at the hotel. This doesn’t includes the fine dining of the Italian. The food at the bistro wasn’t at the standards and quality as one may expect from a hotel like “ el cielo “

The restaurant and the support staff. My husband and I travel regularly and are not in the habit of complaining but I feel our experience needs to be mentioned. Pros: staff is friendly, quiet location, rooftop pool and bar (although one day it was closed for a kids event), a wonderful restaurant on the main floor of the hotel. Cons: they are more concerned about the restaurant running smoothly than their hotel guests, rooms were small - no closet space, drawers, hooks to hang items, etc., staff was not transparent about HVAC issues the hotel was having (we had to call them two nights in a row to see what the issue was - at midnight and 2am). We spent 4 nights at the Elcielo. The check-in and staff are all very friendly and welcoming. On our second evening, we ate at the restaurant downstairs and had one of the best, definitely the most memorable, dining experiences we’ve had. My husband even commented that it was better than some 2-starred Michelin restaurants we’ve had the pleasure and fortune to dine at. Our issue started on that same night when our room’s air conditioning unit began malfunctioning. When I called the front desk, they mentioned the hotel’s entire system was not working but would be fixed in the morning. We know these things happen and it's not the fault of the staff, we would be uncomfortable for one night and think nothing of it. The third day we left early in the morning from a day excursion expecting the room air conditioning to be fixed. The system seemed to be working and as we were never informed of any inability to repair, or of incomplete repair work, we had no idea what the hotel’s system status was, fixed or not fixed. We went to bed, but both my husband and I woke up at 2:00am in the morning covered in sweat. We called the front desk and were again told the air conditioning system was not working throughout the hotel but would be fixed in the morning.

Dannyela at reception was brilliant when our luggage was lost by Air France. She helped us enormously. The pool area was very relaxing. The wine! Seriously overpriced for not particularly good wine. They desperately need a cellar manager.
