Hotel Quinta Avenida

The location here was great, smack in the middle of Laureles in a part that felt quite safe. The room was spacious and everything inside worked well. The linens were in pretty good shape considering the price of the hotel room. The free breakfast in the morning was filling (although the variety and quality were a bit lacking). The staff wasn't good. No one spoke any English, which wasn't a big deal because I speak a little Spanish and there is Google translate for bigger issues, but if you don't speak Spanish communication isn't easy. But what is a problem for everyone is some of the staff members here are downright rude, especially the red-haired one. I felt that me placing my breakfast order or asking for something simple like for the water cooler refilled was a massive imposition on them. In addition, they were unreliable, locking the door at times during the day but not having someone at the front desk. I had to wait 10 minutes outside one afternoon to be let in, and when I was finally let in there was no apology; rather, the staff member seemed annoyed that I had bothered her. The rooms themselves are also quite noisy. I stayed on the top floor and above the ceiling there must have been a tin roof that had animals walking on it. Anytime from sunrise to sunset I could hear the pitter patter of little feet or claws on the roof. That was really annoying. Also, this hotel was close enough to Carrera 70 where you could hear loud music until the early morning. If you're a light sleeper, this isn't the place for you. When I stayed here the nightly rate was pretty good compared to other hotels in the area. Near the end of my stay when I was looking for my next place of accommodation, the price increased by nearly 50%. This is a budget hotel in terms of quality, so I couldn't recommend it to anyone unless you're paying budget prices.

My room had ac. No all rooms do. But the location was very central. The breakfast, while super small and simple,e, was decent. No windows in the room. The one window was internal and if I left it uncovered other hotel guests could look into my room. There was mold on the bathroom walls.

I had a really pleasant stay at this hotel overall. The location was convenient, with easy access to restaurants, shops, and key areas of the city, which made getting around Medellín quite straightforward. The staff were friendly and generally helpful whenever I had questions or needed assistance. The room was comfortable and clean, with all the basic amenities you’d expect. Noise levels were mostly fine. Great for short stays in my opinion especially considering the price. Breakfast was decent, offering a good variety of options, Overall, it was a solid experience and good value for money. I’d consider coming back. Nothing stood out to be honest.

The room was quite large + spacious The value just isn't there. The armoire in my room reeked of cigarette smoke and the furniture was dated / cheap. The metal springs on the bed poked through :(! The staff often doesn't even greet or acknowledge you, which is so weird! Also, it was noisy. Often I could hear the staff talking loudly / watching super loud TikTok / YouTube videos and all the noise entered my room. It just wasn't relaxing at all. I think they can improve my investing a little more into the space and thinking about reducing noise. Overall, I didn't feel welcomed.

I stayed here from June 17-July 1, 2025. I love this hotel. It is a simple no frills place but better in many respects to other hotels in the same category, and I have stayed in many. It is right in front of San Joaquin church. The price I got on Booking was great (approx. $22 per night), though the price can vary wildly like all other places in Medellin depending on the season or whether there is a major event going on in the city. The staff was fantastic (Eliana, Duzbely, y Jon). The water pressure and hot water was perfect and consistent. The WIFI was also great. For me, the location is amazing. Busy nightlife street (La 70) is less than a block away, but since hotel is on a side street, the noise level was minimal. There is a clean, small supermarket "La Vaquita" around the corner and several affordable mom & pop restaurants and shops within 2-3 blocks (in the church area). San Juan Street is only 3 blocks away which is one of the main streets leading into "El Centro" which was convenient for a quick Uber ride. There is also a U.S. sports bar "Medellin Sports Bar" only 2 blocks away (crossing "La 70"). There is a Metro stop (El Estadio) about a 15 min walk away (straight down "La 70") with a huge stadium sports complex open to the public which was great for my morning runs. There is also a major mall "Unicentro" about a 15 min walk down the "La 70" in the opposite direction. I had a small folding bicycle which they allowed me to store on first floor. I was sad to leave. There is no elevator, but this was not a problem for me as I was on the 2nd floor.

Great value, great location, and very comfortable Nada

The location is great and last trip I had an excellent room and stay. Cleaned my room the next day, Did not bother my items. Took out trash and tidied up a bit. Breakfast was ok. Had hangers in room, but no fridge. Nothing extra. No ice machine. Nothing. Had TV. Had bare essentials. I was first given my room that had no AC after I paid for AC, I was easily moved. The room 210 was the room I was then assigned to. The bed only had a fitted sheet. No top sheet. The only blankets were these small fleece blankets that were too small. There is a big gap under the door so light comes in if you don't cover it. The bathroom was so small I could barely access it. There were minimal toiletries and only 1 towel, No towel for your hair, no towel to lay on the floor, and no wash cloth. Glad I brought my own. The bed was hard and the room next to me had 7 people in it. There were 3 beds piled into that room and the people were so loud, you couldn't rest at all. I had earplugs in. The overall cleanliness of the room was about a 3 out of a 10. I wore shoes the entire time I was in there. There was a tv, no English channels. It was not the same level of cleanliness or experience I had, had before.
