Wonderful hosts, Javier and Nora were very accommodating to my needs. The location was ideal, close to Avenida Ochenta, the Metro, innumerable good restaurants and five D1 supermercado and an independent and very good supermarket a couple doors down. For urban convenience, pleasant and respectful household vibe and surprisingly quiet location only meters from Avenida Ochenta, this hostal is very hard to beat. I particularly enjoyed the house pets. Pacheco is the family's Yellow-crowned Amazon Parrot and is amazingly talkative and chattery. The sounds Pacheco makes go beyond just words. Absolutely wonderful! Nemo is their sweet and smart, floppy-eared Chihuahua. He will bark harmlessly at you until you pet him, after which, you have made a friend for life! The two bathrooms are quite nice, but I would encourage Javier and Nora to make sure the bathrooms are both fully operational at all times. The front bathroom, which I rarely used, had a leaky faucet initially during my three month stay. That was fixed, but then the toilet wasn't properly flushing later. As there is the capacity for a sizable number of people staying at the hostal, I think the bathrooms both being fully functional is important. Also, a couple times we were without water due to city-scheduled cessation of service. With no water, there is no way to flush the toilets. I would suggest placing plastic, reserve water barrels (like 100 liter size) in both bathrooms to allow manual flushing when city water service is down. I also didn't like that I don't speak Spanish. No knock against Javier and Nora as the problem lies with me. Nevertheless, they are interesting people who I would have liked to get to know better.

Un lugar bonito! Very nice place to stay

Very inexpensive price for a private room. Pretty comfortable too! The family was very friendly! It's just a couple's house, not a hostel or guesthouse. Little security. The wifi was incredibly slow/practically nonexistent. Location was not very good.

this hostel is two rooms in a couples home. it was far away from most things. the room was tiny and the beds were essentially wood planks.
