A/C was loud and rattled while running, didn’t cool consistently. Something dark brown was smeared across inside of bathroom door. Curtains were broken and partially hanging off the rail. USB and accessory outlets broken / not functional. Ongoing painting / repairs / renovations on first floor. There were also a lot of gnats flying around throughout the hotel, including inside our room. This hotel gets 3 stars - one because we were able to check in early, one because the location was convenient, and one because the complimentary breakfast was surprisingly impressive.

The hotel was so BAD I was dying to leave the moment I walked in. Unfortunately, it was the 4th of July 2026, and I had an event that was pre planned with nowhere to sleep for the night.

Very nice staff. Coffee ready at 4:30am was great! Could use some upgrades in the room. Air conditioner was a little loud but not really an issue for us.

Our first day we headed for several of the great Melbourne thrift stores, where we found exactly what we were looking for. We drove to friendly restaurants not far away in town. The Hampton Inn breakfast was fresh and good. All in all, a good place to stay.

Security/safety issue. Side entrance door doesn’t lock. Staff said they ordered a replacement and waiting on it.
