The breakfast was decent. Limited selection but covered the basics of brreakfast. The location was great. Quick walk to cultural sites and the great park. Cute neighborhood with lots of restaurant options. The hotel architecture and interior design was interesting and well done. For the price, the double room was way too small. I was very disappointed to be squeezed into a narrow room and tight bathroom that was to be used by 2 people. Also, they scheduled an electric outage during the evening which lasted more than the 30 min they informed. Being in a pitch black hotel for almost 2 hours either no A/C was not ideal especially for the money paid. Then when power resumed somehow lost WiFi for the tv and even maintenance could not restore. No offer to compensate but simply given a “sorry for your inconvenience. Having spent almost $2500, I expected better. Also the amenities are not good. There really is not a pool but more of a water feature. Don’t come here if you think you to lay out by a pool.

It felt like it was a $150/night budget design hotel, not a 5 star hotel. Nothing worked particularly well and the build felt cheap. Incredibly noisy from the room. No natural light.

    Good

My room was perfect - modern and clean Noisy rooftop bar from early morning - unavoidable noise pollution when trying to rest. The restaurant served me a mushroom bourguignon with no mushrooms in it - just gravy and rice ?!?

The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The architecture was very interesting as well. We had significant maintenance issues during our stay. The AC in our room went out the second night and it took another night before we could be put into a new room. Unfortunately, the second room had issues as well. The handle on the sink was broken and not fixed during our stay. The final night the second room’s AC went out as well. We were comped a dinner at Elora, but given that we had such significant issues, including half the stay without air conditioning, I felt that a partial refund would be more appropriate. Additionally, the noise from the cocktail bar is significant. It runs until 11:30, so if you need to wake up early it can be disturbing. Because we had to sleep with the windows open most nights, it was worse. Overall, I would not stay at Volga again. It’s a nice looking place and the staff was helpful, but there is clearly work that needs done.

The suite was Amazing. I do think they should offer make-up wipes like most properties do since they over-emphasize having to pay if you stain their high quality towels or comforters. We arrived early and maybe the guy checking us in was just tired, but the checkin process was sub par. We asked to borrow towels for an excursions & was told we weren’t allowed to which sucked but we just purchased our own.

Very modern design, great location and has the sense of luxury. Stuff always willing to help. Rooms are small and not practical. Toilets do not have door that completely closes it’s a bit weird. Breakfast very very basic compared on what you are paying. Also rooms are dark no natural light.

We arrived in Mexico City for the Dia De Los Muertos festivities. We were originally booked at another hotel, which we were displeased with after the first night. I got on Booking.com and sought out other accommodations. I was worried that we would not find a place to stay due to the events in the city. I found Volga. I am so glad that we did. The hotel is amazing. Breakfast is a fabulous way to start your day. Just one block off the Avenida de La Reforma, So many restaurants are within walking distance. The hotel bar is a great place to wind up a long day. Excellent cocktails. The staff is very attentive and pleasant. Our room was very comfortable and beautifully appointed. Housekeeping was impeccable. Bed was a bit low on a platform.
