B&B Annabel

Simply spectacular. A very comfortable place with all the amenities for transportation, food, and leisure. Very close to Milan's main attractions, and I must highlight Paola's excellent and friendly service, which makes you feel right at home. Highly recommended!

Exceptional

Excellent location on the edge of city center, a short one block walk to the trams or metro to get around Milan and to restaurants. Our room came with a parking spot on the owner’s property inside a private gate, a big plus due to the limited available street parking in this mostly residential area. This is a beautifully maintained 3-story house that has been in the family for several generations. There are 4 individual units on the first floor. The host/owner, Paola, is by far the nicest host of any of the 108 places we have stayed in Europe in our 10 years of travel. She took an incredible amount of time explaining the features and history of Milan and walked us outside a few blocks to show us where to catch the tram and where to have lunch. She also made dinner reservations for us for both nights of our stay. The food at the Bugande’ on the canal was excellent, Paola reserved a table inside by the window, the best seat in the house. Don’t sit outside unless you don’t mind getting disturbed by street people trying to sell you something. Very nice breakfast buffet in a common dining room. Paola made eggs for my wife and I each morning, nicely prepared and cooked to perfection. Paola is such a wonderful host that I hate to say anything negative. I would have liked to rate this property a 10 but the room and bathroom were on the small side, we had the Red Room, the online pictures are deceiving. The walk-in shower was very narrow. The mattress was not very good, it needs to be upgraded. Central A/C that you don’t have control over, but the temperature was fine during our stay.

This is a beautiful B&B in an excellent location (just a few minute walk to the Metro station, restaurants, supermarkets, and other shops). We were greeted by the host’s son upon our arrival. He showed us around and introduced us different attractions in Milan. Paola, the host, was very helpful and friendly. Before we got there, she answered my questions very promptly. When I was there, she introduced us different restaurants around the facility, helping us to make reservation. I had to get out early on several days. Paola made extra effort to prepare me food for breakfast (eg cantaloupe, tomato with mozzarella, fried egg, etc), and also shared with me some soup in the evening. No issues with wifi. We told Paola that we would arrive earlier and Paola confirmed having no problem with it. In the end, we had to wait for ~30min at the gate and sent the host messages several times before Paola’s son opened the gate for us. Minor suggestion: it may be helpful to have rack to put soap, shampoo etc at the shower so that there is no need to keep bending down many times for the soap, etc.

Paola is an amazing host. The orientation she gives you when you check in is unexpected yet very welcoming and we appreciated it very much. Together with her son, Edward, they made us very comfortable and informed. The location is amazing - short rides with public transportation to everything. We would stay again here in a heart beat. One of the best B&Bs we ever stayed. None.

We enjoyed the stay at the B&B. The B&B looks very beautiful. We stayed in the room with a washroom in it Paola, the host, and her son, Edward, are very friendly; Edward introduced us different attractions in the city and Paola introduced us different restaurants around the B&B and helped us make reservation for dinner. We let the owner know the approximate arrival time. But we ended up having to wait at their gate for at least 30mins at the gate despite sending the B&B messages that we were at the gate. Finally the owner’s son came to open the gate for us. Then we received the message from them stating we needed to press the button to the B&B at the gate strongly until the light was on. Should they knew about it, it would be helpful to let us know about the semi-faulty bell at the gate beforehand.

This place is simply beautiful. Very big thanks to Paola, she has really tried to make our stay unforgettable. This place is clean, big and quiet, and has a good breakfast. It is also only a few minutes from the metro station located. If we are in Milano again, we are staying here for sure :-) grazie! Beds are comfortable, but pillows are not my style, so I had some trouble sleeping.

The host is very kind and helpful, you can tell she is very passionate about hosting and hospitality. The room was clean and immaculately decorated. The bathroom was spacious and clean with many toiletries provided. I really liked the location and would stay in this area just for its proximity to many sites of interest. There is nothing bad to say about this property. The host is great and she even prepared a breakfast for me early in the morning so that I could eat before a morning flight.

Dino, the owner, went out of his way to be helpful, supplying chargers, and very helpful advice about where to eat and how to get there. The neighbourhood is very peaceful, and could not be in a better location for easy access to all major attractions. I would strongly recommend B&B Annabel.
