Great place for the price. Breakfast dining area was small but the food options were good.

Good price , room was good , breakfast options were poor .

Was good for an overnight. The beds were clean and comfortable. Hotel is in process of making updates. Our air conditioner was dirty. My husband cleaned off the blower area and wiped down the filter. The are was quiet. We grabbed bagels, apples and bananas to go for breakfast. The price was excellent for an overnight.

clean, quiet, comfortable bed, hot shower

Perfect for overnight stay which is all we needed. But would have been just as good for a several day stay, clean and spacious room. Walking distance (short fee minutes) for meals. Pretty sure it was a 65 inch TV. Fridge microwave great water temp and pressure in shower . Right off interstate and fuel station on other side of parking lot ,Great price and great value. Next time up that way on a trip we plan on staying there again,

The room was reasonably clean and the breakfast was your average motel breakfast, but the property was in the middle of some construction when we were there. The room was a bit old and outdated, and definitely could use a little TLC. Maybe after the construction is completed that will be improved. The area around the motel is also very busy and commercial feeling.

Very nice older motel, recently updated but carpet in room was not. Otherwise for the price it was a perfect place to spend the night.

The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. One was noisy when sitting on it and rolling over. The room was quiet and air conditioned. The lobby and hallways were not air conditioned and smelled musty. Breakfast room was small. It was nice enough to sit outside at a picnic table. It really has a good price point.

Rooms are not finished, there was something crawling above tile ceiling like a mouse or a bird. Shower had mold.
-
Good parking, easy to find and the staff was friendly. Everything worked fine, but appeared in very worn condition. Some work still going on the exterior, and the room we had needed some cosmetic work.
-
Some parts of the building had been renovated and others not, so the hallways looked a little old, but the rooms were fairly nice. The beds were comfortable, the outlets and lights adequate, and the amenities were quite satisfactory. The breakfast was okay, but they had little seating and it was crowded.

This property needs a serious update. Checking in was easy and friendly. The shower was powerful and hot. The bedding, towels and carpet need a refresh.

Expedia filed a cancelation request on my behalf. The next day, when weather had cleared allowing me to travel, I stopped by the Thunderbird Lodge and visited directly with the manager. Even though he had experienced the severe weather the night before, and the hotel was not booked to capacity, he denied me a refund or credit toward a future stay. The manager was certainly in his right to do so, however, that action was very disappointing, travelers beware. If a potential for not making your destination, consider purchasing coverage. I for one understand policies; however, I would also appreciate compassion and consideration for issues outside of my control. This experience was very disappointing and discourages me from making reservations in advance anytime weather may present a challenge of arriving at my destination.

I will absolutely stay again!

Quick stay before heading to Sturgis. They're in the middle of remodeling by the looks of things. We were in the 2nd floor. They put in a new bathroom vanity and mirror but did nothing to the beat up/damaged wall the mirror was attached too! It was like they were putting a bandaid a a gashing wound There was hairballs in the bathroom floor, the floor had cracks and damaged, carpet was stained. Definitely "pay by the hour" vibe. Wouldn't recommend or stay there again. Only perk was front desk staff at check in was really great!

Breakfast was a waffle machine with alot of cold foods: yogurt, cereal, hard boiled eggs, and bakery items. Rooms were clean and comfortable and staff was friendly.

If I were to stay here again I would not get a room that opens to the exterior. A/C heater vent was filthy, the ceiling tiles look like they were ready to fall in, and the noise from the next room kept me up until I was exhausted (they had their tv going all night!). Others said the interior rooms (door opens to hallway) were not bad.

New mattresses - slept well! They are working on the outside (facade) of the bldg - so they are putting $$ into the property. Breakfast was above average.

Very easy to find. The room was clean. There was lots of parking.
