Hilton Okinawa Miyako Island Resort

This hotel is very clean and up to date. The bed was very comfortable. The view was nice. The food at the Italian restaurant was delicious, albeit expensive. The staff are friendly. Check-in was smooth, and they even let us check-in 15 minutes early, which is not always the case in Japan. While the pictures didn't lie, there was a lot left to be desired about this hotel. Yes, the pools are nice. But there are not enough lounge chairs with umbrellas for all guests, and the sun is too strong to sit in for any amount of time. The pools open around 9am - at least an hour later than we would have liked. The pool bar has open and closing hours that vary greatly from the pool hours. So you can be thirsty at the pool, and not have a place to buy a drink. The hotel doesn't provide water bottles (there is a water carafe in the room, and a water dispenser on every floor, but you have to bring your own water bottle if you want to bring water to the pool). There are no vending machines, which means you are dependent upon the pool bar or the small store in the lobby for snacks. Also, the lounge chairs on the beach are a separate fee. There are 2-3 restaurants onsite. The main restaurant provides a buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and there is ala carte options for lunch and dinner. The breakfast buffet is good, but again, there is not enough space for all of the guests, so you have to wait in line to eat, sometimes up to a half an hour. The lunch and dinner buffet were pretty expensive, and the ala carte options were more reasonably priced but not especially good. The Italian restaurant is very good, and more expensive than the main restaurant. When we arrived at the Italian restaurant, we were asked if we had a reservation, but there was nothing in the literature that told us we should make a reservation. They were able to accommodate us. The staff were friendly. However, the restaurants seemed understaffed. The hotel took a long time to respond to my questions prior to arriving, including my questions about the shuttle from the airport.

Very touristy and the location odd

The location and facilities were relatively new and had a modern feel. On the first night, the pillow and bedding had an unpleasant odor, which made for a poor experience, and I had to request a change.

The options of the indoor, outdoor and children’s pool. Staff were overworked or not as energetic. Maybe it was the heat or crowds. Just the energy I noticed was not as accommodating for a four/five star hotel. There were a few workers who were genuinely helpful or attentive to customers. For our family stay the service was satisfactory.

Although the location offers stunning views, it is quite a distance from the city center. Having a vehicle is essential, especially if you want to shop for groceries or avoid being limited to dining at the property for all three meals. The beach is beautiful, but be aware that the shore is covered with coral and rocks — water shoes are highly recommended for a more comfortable experience.

Amazing staff and service. Nice spacious clean rooms. Lots of extra’s like the shuttle bus, bike rental and more. The location is nice; a beach nearby, pools, lots of plants. The location is not nice; big construction nearby and far away from all the sights.

Superb

airport shuttle staff were kind besides communication problems the hotel is nice - limited selection of food: we stayed there for 6 nights and the buffet was always the same, both for dinner and breakfast. - the location of the hotel is far away from everything (15 minutes Walk to the closest kombini, 30 minutes to city center). - a lot of services are not included (e.g. the umbrella and sunbeds at the beach are not included). - communication in English is a bit hard sometimes. - next to the hotel there's a construction site, they're probably building another hotel. The sight and noise is not pleasant. - I stayed in other Hilton in the past, and the provided services is not Hilton level. During my trip in Japan I stayed in other places where I payed the exact same amount per night, and I received an incredibly superior level of service. This is just not worth the price, there are other options

Clean!!! Everything was great - only hiccup was when we asked gor take away of our food, they said no and said they have to throw it away.

The facilities and staff are wonderful. The rooms are spacious, breakfast is until 1pm, swimming pool and kidsclub, restaurant and everything is superb. The washing machine waiting line is way too long……….

Pool Construction, location

We would like to express our deepest gratitude to everyone at the hotel for making our stay truly unforgettable. Your warm hospitality and attention to detail made our trip exceptionally special. During our stay, we got engaged, and we were touched by the thoughtful gestures from your staff. We want to sincerely thank Moe for making our stay at Hilton amazing. She truly went above and beyond to assist us during these five days, from arranging taxis to offering destination tips, and most importantly, making our engagement the most incredible experience. Moe always welcomed us warmly when we arrived at the hotel and waved us off with a smile when we left. She is a genuinely kind-hearted person who truly deserves to be recognized. We also had the pleasure of dining several nights at the wonderful restaurant, Isoletta, where we were always warmly welcomed by Haruna and Yuka. Their kindness and cheerful attitude greatly enhanced our dining experience. They were amazing! The hotel's rooftop bar was another highlight of our stay, offering a breathtaking view of the stars while enjoying fantastic drinks. Alex was incredibly helpful, providing us with excellent tips for our trip and revealing some hidden gems we wouldn't have discovered otherwise. We also received outstanding service at the reception, where Koki amongst with other was always ready to assist with taxi bookings and beach recommendations, all while greeting us with a smile. Thank you once again for making our stay so special. We will cherish these memories forever and look forward to returning in the future. I am sorry if I have forgotten any names but the whole staff were amazing!!!

Exceptional

Everything! The entire hotel staff, room, pool, buffet breakfast and other amenities were excellent. Nagisa (Chrissy) especially! She greeted us when we arrived with a great smile and a super friendly demeanor. We then spent a good amount of time talking with her about the hotel, places to eat and things we could do around the area. Her professional manner and thoughtfulness made our stay even more enjoyable! Nothing.
