The room was gorgeous. The onsen was amazing! Lots of beautiful products in the room and onsen. Staff at desk and shop were super helpful. Everything was really great overall. The one this that surprised us was that there was no instruction about breakfast, considering this hotel serves so many folks from foreign countries. The manual in the room instructed us in English about the onsen etiquette and many other amenities in the hotel. But it would be beneficial for them to include a sheet about the Japanese breakfast. We had no idea what most things were and when or how we were supposed to eat them.

property was absolutely outstanding beautiful we had a Sweet with a gorgeous view of the water. The shared bath Osen was luxurious and indoor outdoor and a micro steam bath for the ladies and a hot Sauna for men! Upon arrival they take your bags provide you with the welcome drink and guide you to your room. very close to being able to go up tram bikes were available on the property for a nominal fee. We wrote them across and then took the boat back and took the chairlift up on the other side. Everything is very well explained the sushi place about 300 yards down. The road was also amazing for breakfast was delicious only Japanese tourists while we visited. just now if you arrive later in the day very difficult to get a dinner reservation Hotel was kind enough to call around for us and we were able to get into a family restaurant right next-door which was a very fun experience with the Hotel dinner looked well worth it. Nothing

It was beautiful and serene. Lovely amenities. The food was outstanding. Great location. We loved it all.

Simple beauty without any cheap clatters that you see at many Japanese hotels/ryokans, good amenity and facilities incl Nespresso machine in the room, beautiful view, clean everywhere, clean and beautiful modern onsen, great additional amenities. Friendly staff called for dinner reservations. Food was good and nice presentation. Room lighting can be improved with more soft indirect lighting. Beautiful view in the room but can have some small light outside to enjoy the night view from the room. The chairs were obviously set to watch TV but seeing the view through their large windows should be more priority (we moved the rug and chairs!). Pick-up and drop off were helpful on the rainy day with heavy luggage. Staff lack of words other than “thank you” Lighting outside by the water was missing to enjoy the night view from the room

The staff were extremely helpful and went above and beyond in helping me to locate a Japanese family member whom I had not seen in a long time who lives in the area.

Very nice traditional Japanese ryokan. Sleeping futons are too thin.

The staff were very friendly and helpful with all my needs while staying Monjusou

Location was stunning. The garden outside of our first floor room, along the canal was peaceful and serene. I loved that they provided a futon mat to sit/lay down on to enjoy the outside as well. Our room was large and beautifully appointed. Loved making coffee in the room each morning and enjoying the view. Beds extremely comfortable and cozy. The private in-room onsen was delightful. We had a fabulous time riding along the peninsula on the one speed bicycles provided by the hotel. Make plans for your meals. This is a very small town and any of the good restaurants will require reservations.

Location- The hotel itself and the surrounding area are beautiful. There is a nice beach and woodland walk next to the hotel. It is quiet and a nice break away from the hussle and bussle of the cities in Japan. Train station is around a 5 min walk. Staff- Very friendly & helpful with the majority speaking fairly good English. Public Baths- The male public baths were spotless and also include a sauna and cold plunge pool. Attention to detail- As with all of Japan, the rooms were extremely clean. The room had a great balcony looking onto a wooded area. I would suggest a 2 night stay to be able to fully enjoy the hotel and surrounding area. Location- The vast majority of shops & resturants shut at around 6pm. If you haven't made a reservation at the hotel restaurant and the nearby restaurant 310 ( which is great by the way) is fully booked then you will struggle to eat. Bike rental- you have to pay 600 yen to rent bikes which is abit in an already expensive hotel. Breakfast- will not be to everyone's taste, especially westerners as it is mostly fish and soup.

Location, size, facilities, wonderful staff Room temperature a bit hard to regulate, something not right with the toilet resulting in sewage smell.

Our room has an excellent view just by the shore. Room was huge, with both Japanese and western area and the hot spring bath inside the room is excellent for my travel partner who is not comfortable using the public hot spring facilities. The two meals included were decadent, with lots of courses. Staff was friendly, attentive and the Japanese staff can communicate adequately in English. They do have a few foreign workers in the staff which speaks better English also. Location of hotel is just a 4 minutes walk from Amanohashidate Station.

    Superb

  • Engine customer Aug 2024

Quiet and peaceful hotel that mixes perfectly design and tradition. Rooms are large and comfortable. Amanohashidate beach is fantastic for a swim. Beware that you should reserve dinner in the hotel before arrival otherwise you will have to fetch for a restaurant nearby and they basically mostly close before 6 pm.

It’s nicely renovated with a clean public bath and is located at a very convenient location. We can park our car at the parking after check out to continue the sight-seeing before leaving the area. Room is quiet and with nice view. While the staff in general were friendly and helpful, we were very disappointed with the 2 staff at check out time. Two young staff - one female and one male - were just standing there watching me struggle with putting 3 full sizes luggages and 2 hand-carry into the car trunk. They stood there and just watched and didn’t help even my friend asked them too. This is not acceptable for a hotel if such high ratings.
