The hotel is in a great location right next to the shrine, close to the station, rope way and walk across the sand bar. Food was excellent as was the service. We booked 2 rooms and the room with the outside seating was spacious and lovely. The second room had a great view but had quite a small bathroom and was more cosy. Even though the weather was 50:50 we really enjoyed our stay here.

We had a fairly large room with a great view of the bridge and water. The onsen was really nice and the meals were amazing! The team there was very helpful and accomodating. The beds, which is the room type I picked on purpose, were not very comfortable. And the room had no where to hang a towel or put your clothes.

The service, amenities, and food at this establishment are excellent. The futon was extremely hard and made it difficult to sleep on.

Food was incredible. Service was exceptional. Felt completely and totally welcome. House slippers were too small.

Staff are very friendly and helpful, even with minimal English. Dinner and breakfast were exceptional featuring seasonal specialties. Location is excellent! Its a traditional inn, so sleeping on the tatami floor and having meals seated on the floor is part of the Japanese culture foreigners need to embrace.

This is a traditional ryokan, right in the middle of Miyazu, next to the shrine. Our room looked out on the water and on Amanohashidate, to our delight. The semi-western beds were comfortable. The breakfasts and dinners, both kaiseki, were delicious. The bath and onsen were small but adequate. Most of the guests were Japanese. The staff were very helpful, though no one spoke much English. We would definitely stay here again. Note that the shoes/tatami rules are quite strict. Also that almost everyone “dresses” for dinner. These are not really dislikes, just things to be aware of.

Truly beautiful and delicious meals. It is absolutely worth getting the meals included. Every meal was a different surprise each time and featured unique seasonal and local delicacies. The local sake and pine juice were great! The view was wonderful and exactly as the listing described/showed. Our window view was right up close to the turning bridge. The staff were so kind and helpful. It was a relaxing and exceptionally enjoyable stay for the traditional ryokan experience. I loved the baths for soaking. Because there are limited guests, I often had the public bath to myself and they were always clean and well stocked. It felt much more intimate to stay here. The ryokan is right in the "heart" of activities with gift shops, restaurants, and notable sites nearby. Notably, there is a quaint gift shop inside too. It is easily walkable to Amanohashidate Station. Also, this ryokan has a side entrance/area for guests to tidy up after visiting the beach. Very considerate and showcases the spirit of omotenashi.

Location was excellent, staff very friendly. Greeted with tea and a little mochi snack while waiting for reception processing. Room was terrific - nice to have bed a little off the floor. Bathroom and shower were welcome after staying in slightly more traditional spaces.

Great location and very nice facility. Staff was generally friendly and attentive

The staff was very friendly and made the place comforting. For foreign visitors, they do their best to communicate in english. The building is old and has a traditional charm to it. Reminded me of my grandma's house in her mountain village. Food was delicious in a cozy little restaurant. The public baths are on the smaller side but there is also a bath tub and shower in the room for those that are less comfortable with the public bath. Great location to the port, local shops, and station. Highly recommend <3

Everything was perfect, room, service and the Onsen in the basement

  • Engine customer Apr 2025

It is a small cosy hotel - really special and quiet after busy days spent in Kyoto. Our room was simply perfect - 2nd floor corner room with a huge balcony and windows overlooking the bridge and bay. Our children were next door in a smaller but equally lovely space. The staff were completely sweet and helpful. I wish we could have spent another night! ?? Nothing!

The room has the best view. We sat by the window enjoying the beautiful scenery. The food was so good, especially the dinner. It was fine dining with 6 courses. There is nothing to dislike at all.

Wonderful, Beautiful food, very accommodating, the dining experience was more elaborate and elegant than expected as we made a last minute booking. Morning coffee, baths and stunning terrace overlooking the bridge was incredible.
