great location , simple quality

Appreciated the friendly, helpful staff. Breakfast was superb with delicious fresh berries, granola options, breads, cheese, meats etc along with coffee and other beverages. Rooms were spacious and clean. Liked having the coffee machine in our room for tea or coffee. The only negative was the stair cases were covered as work was being done on walls and ceilings. The coverings made walking up/down the stairs a bit challenging.

The staff was friendly and professional. The breakfast was outstanding and included hot options. The hotel is older, but clean and comfortable. The hotel is tricky to find. Parking was listed as part of the booking, but it is on the street and a parking pass is put in the window of the car. We had to park 2 streets down to find a spot.

In the room, the walls need to be repainted, spots everywhere, even on the chair ( not feel comfortable to sit), the elevator was very old, smells not good also the main hall from room to elevator, room very old decorated, old bed, totally was like a bored grandma house! Location so far by walking to center, if you going to walk through city it will be difficult.

The staff were amazing during our entire stay … they really made our stay enjoyable. Also the location of the property was great … though it was close to lots of shops and restaurants it was tacked in a small neighborhood that was quiet. Something that needs to be addressed right away is the showers. The shower head holder is far from where you are standing and unless you do some acrobatics or hold the shower head over you head you can get to water easily.

Dated facilities. No central air/AC. Uncomfortable bed.

Breakfast is very good, very fresh fruit and croissant. Staff are very freiendly. It's been my 3rd time to Das Nikolai.

We had an amazing stay in this cozy place! First of all, the host was incredibly attentive and helpful. Our room was excellent, equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The convenience of nearby parking was another huge plus. We also really enjoyed the breakfast, it offered a great variety of delicious food. We definitely recommend this place!

Location, breakfast, staff The bed was horrible. No support. My wife and I had significant lower back pain each morning. Also, not that clean. The booking.com ratings are way too high for this hotel.
