Near the train station and near small stores or shops to buy bottled water and small snacks Due to the hotel's proximity to the main road and tram rails, hotel rooms facing and adjacent to the street, I experience severe noise disturbances. The sound of passing trams and tram vibrations is so loud that can hear inside the room and it makes impossible to get a good night's sleep. The trams operate 24/7 so literally no better days and nights. If you are a light sleeper I would not recommend this hotel What made me stay for the remainder of my reservation was the excellent service at the reception; after I complained about my initial room, they moved me the next day to a quieter and better one.

The hotel is in a terrible area and does not feel safe when you walk out.

Great location, nice hotel with friendly w. Currently lots of construction going on in the area.

They made no attempt to contact us when we didn’t arrive for our “first” night. Nor our “second” night. Nor our “third” night. The dates we thought we had booked were switched at the last moment of the booking process and remained unnoticed by us until we arrived on the date we expected to stay. No consideration from the Excelsior.. Very dissatisfied with both the hotel response. Munich was busy that weekend and I assume they would have had no difficulty booking the room and they would neither confirm or deny the rebooked when we didn’t show up.

The room was very clean and very comfortable and spacious. The staff was very very friendly. The location was very good very close to public transportation.

Everything was perfect. You can not ask for a better hotel near the train station and public transit. Plan on staying here for my next trip in a few weeks.

Great! To much familiarity with the clients may be too intrusive one of the front desk gentleman .

Breakfast was expensive for menu choices

Fairly good location that is within walking distance of Marienplatz. Checked in and went to room to discover there was no air conditioning. Went to front desk and they said 30 Euros extra per night for a/c but no rooms available. Had to upgrade to suite which would have been 100 Euros extra per night. There was nothing in the listing saying it did not have a/c however, it was not listed in the room description. As Americans, you assume it would have a/c but not the case at this hotel. After an hour of discussion we compromised on extra 50 Euros per night. It was a Sunday when we checked in and there was no management available so we asked them to call and they agreed to compromise. Facility in need of renovation although the suite we ended up with was renovated and very roomy.

Easy location from central station. Very nice staff. We had a large room - quiet , and fairly comfy. Good breakfast included in our hotel rate The carpet in the room could use a good steam cleaning. We had a fan running all night bc it was hot without any AC available.

Location is good. Parking is not very close and is quite expensive.
-
Cleanliness excellent. Staff at the reception excellent. Although the hotel is located on a quiet street, the room is noisy - you can hear the tram passing in front. Breakfast could be better.

The room was large enough, well appointed, and clean. Staff was friendly and helpful, and the location not far from the central train station was convenient for me (10 minute walk to the Lufthansa airport bus stop, for example). For breakfast, I took a morning walk to a nice cafe (https://maps.app.goo.gl/q3KzXK9BpQKMp6dg7), and that worked well since I like to combine walks with breakfast. The street that the Excelsior is on has an unfinished construction project right across from the hotel, and that is somewhat off putting for some travelers.

Glass sliding doors to bathroom not as private as solid doors.

Location and design of the entire hotel was really amazing. Really clean and comfortable. The air conditioner is not working above 22 degrees. I am not sure it was 22C. If you go april or may, nights can be cold.

Cleanliness and friendly staff, close to the train station.

We had two problems. The first room facing the street was very noisy so we were moved to inside room. Fortunately we checked the safe the night before our departure. After a fair amount of time the safe was unlocked and we had our passports. This could have been much worse if we checked the safe next morning and found the batteries dead. The person at the desk minimized our concerns and did not offer a reasonable discount for our stay.
