Helvetia Rooms – Self Check-In

Everything especially the location!!

Our shower cabin was absolutely broken. There is no way to leave your luggage after check out. Luggage storage inside the hotel cost us 13€ for three hours!!!

Η καθαριότητα ήταν εντάξει Πολύ στενό δωμάτιο, πολύ ακριβό για την ποιότητα του (75€). Μέτριο προς κακό στρώμα, το air condition ζοριζοταν να ρίξει τη θερμοκρασία σε ένα τόσο μικρό χώρο. Ανύπαρκτη θέα. Υποβαθμισμένη περιοχή με πολύ φασαρία και βρωμιά. Το ασανσέρ πολύ μικρό. Το δωμάτιο δεν είχε ψυγείο. Το πάπλωμα είχε τρύπα. Δεν αξίζει για πάνω από 30€

All is good

We had a corner room on the fifth floor and it was very quiet. The room was a decent size with two chairs, a desk, and plugs on each side of the bed. The bathroom was also a good size with a fairly big shower. The bed was comfortable. Housekeeping came by every day and replenished the tea and coffee for the in-room kettle. ​Location-wise, it’s just a 5-minute walk from the Munich main train station and right across from the Hauptbahnhof S-Bahn station. The room had slanted ceilings, so if you're tall, you have to be careful not to bump your head. They have luggage lockers available, but there is an extra fee for them—whereas other self-check-in hotels usually provide this service for free.

The proximity to the train station was great, as well as the fact that it was an easy access. However there were people outside of the building who had not received the code, and it made me feel like I was lucky, not that this self-checkin is always a good option/trustworthy. The room was clean, comfortable and had all the appliances, except that the remote had no batteries, which means the tv was not usable. I usually need conditioner when I wash my hair, and I usually find it in hotels. The soap felt a little itchy, so it made me think it is of very poor quality (especially considering that I never have problems with soaps, so I am not particularly sensitive). The thing with the remote really bothered me, because it made the use of the tv completely impossible. I tried this self-checkin experience for the first time, and I have to admit (like other guests before) that having at least a person in the whole facility to take care of little problems (like the people not being able to checking because of the missing code, the remote thing...) is needed.

Location is great very close to main station and city center. Met only one staff (Iona) who was super helpful. Was worried about safety as i read reviews that its jot a safe neighborhood and i arrived 1 am (one female with my daughter) but i felt very safe and comfortable. Air conditioning was very good. No staff at all (except one I met coincidentally), it would be helpful to be at least one staff at reception but communication thry email was also ok.

The location was good and convenient for visiting Munich, but unfortunately the overall experience was disappointing. The room and floors were very dirty, and the bathroom had a terrible smell coming from the shower drain. Cleanliness was clearly not up to standard. There was also no visible staff on-site, as everything was handled online, which made it difficult to get assistance when needed. The property has a good location, but the lack of cleanliness and maintenance made the stay unpleasant. No fridge

To the point, with AC and bed. VERY CLOSE to the major train station. I felt like I had the whole property to myself and the 2nd floor was stocked with extra towels, tissues and toilet paper for grabs. At night, it is not safe for women to walk alone. It’s the red light district of Munich. There’s strip clubs, low budget casinos and A LOT of men at night, mostly Muslim. There were only 6 women out that night and I went home immediately.

The elevator was broken. And the toilet was hard to flush; you had to hold the button and manually flush it.

Staffless concept is working smoothly, everything was arranged perfectly. Everything is good.

Very budget-friendly option in a central location. The room was clean and having a private bathroom was a big plus compared to other low-cost stays. The overall finish felt quite basic—no wall outlets near the bed and the bathroom had a strong unpleasant smell and didn’t feel well maintained.
