Great location and pretty on the inside and out We booked two separate beds and when we got there, they didn't have a room that had two separate beds available so they only option was to have a rollaway as a second bed. They did nothing beyond that to try and accommodate us or compensate for not having the room that we requested.

Elegant well run establisment. It is within walking distance of the town center. Off street parking would be bonus. There was no aircon in our room only a fan.

Very clean and the staff were very accomodating

The hotel is very boutique and the rooms are unusual shapes. One of ours had a lounge attached with original old furniture. The bathroom was exceptionally clean and well stocked and the beds and bedding were perfect. The breakfast was amazing and the terrace is so lovely for outdoor dining. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location is excellent. There was a fan in the room but air conditioning was actually necessary as it was so hot. Appreciate that this is an old building, so retrofitting air conditioning is probably not an option. The garage is around the corner and spaces are limited. We had thought to book in advance otherwise it would have been difficult.

Overall, Hotel Opera is a good property with several notable strengths, though there is room for improvement. On the positive side, the hotel features exceptional common areas, including a lovely inner courtyard where breakfast is served. The boutique-style breakfast is very well-curated and elegant, offering a generous spread accompanied by attentive table service from a highly professional team. The hotel staff as a whole was extremely friendly and professional throughout our stay. Our room was clean and styled in a vintage decor that we really enjoyed; while it might not suit those looking for modern design, the vintage aesthetic is well-maintained and charming. Additionally, the location has some great advantages: it is very close to the subway, which we used extensively, and within walking distance of a high-end, prosperous area filled with luxury shops. However, there were a few downsides to our experience. During booking on Booking.com, I was given the option to choose between a twin room or a double bed. I selected a double bed, but only after confirming the reservation was I notified that a double bed was subject to availability. Right up until the day before arrival, I requested a double bed, but kept receiving the same response that it was subject to availability. Upon arrival, we were given two single beds joined together instead of a proper double bed. It feels misleading to allow guests to select an option during booking if it cannot be guaranteed especially since other properties list rooms simply as "twin or double" without a choice. Furthermore, double rooms were clearly available, as another couple who complained about uncomfortable beds was moved to a room with a double bed free of charge. We were simply too exhausted on our first night to complain and ended up keeping the joined single beds for the remaining nights, despite our dissatisfaction. On top of this, the surrounding area currently has ongoing roadworks; since our room faced the street, heavy vehicles woke us up around 4:00 AM every night. We were also surprised by the absence of a mini-fridge and a kettle for tea in the room. Lastly, there is no air conditioning, though we were aware of this in advance and the hotel provided a tower fan which helped mitigate the heat.

Central location Lovely breakfast, best tea so far in Germany, beautifully served. No air con and it was very hot 30+degrees so sleeping difficult

Amazing breakfast options with very good quality! Location is fantastic and close to city centre. Small bathroom but is not a big issue. Also warm room as there is no AC. But we had a fan that helped a lot. It’s ok afterall.

The hotel has 5 places in a nearby garage. No need to unpack the car. Breakfast was exceptional, everything fresh. Service very good and polite. In summer breakfast is served in a delightful courtyard. Close to the English garden. In summer one should keep the windows facing the small road during the night shut so not to be woken early morning.
