Beach view is perfect love it. Always parking. About the clean rooms no pretty good. I love the environment and the location is perfect.

The staff was very very friendly and helpful. It’s a great location but the place really needs updating. Also since Elliot reality took this over they really should know with a full kitchen there has to be at least 1 roll of paper towels or kitchen towels etc. There was nothing. The restaurant/bar downstairs had a really good breakfast and the bar in it was very well stocked and popular for a smaller hotel. This could be a great stay if they would update the place

Very clean, the staff were very accommodating. Would stay here again!

Love the ocean view from my room

Loved this place. The restaurant inside is fantastic!!!!! I don’t mind dated looks, I thought it looked great to me! I don’t like the new fancy modern Hilton looks ha! Will absolutely be returning with my daughters!

We really enjoyed our stay, The staff was very helpful and friendly. As far as the room, the kitchen was in need of eating utensils. Someone forgot to put a shower curtain up after cleaning. But they got us one really fast after letting staff know. Ocean front, and a pool ( side of motel) it was clean . I definitely would stay here again. Don't recommend 1 st floor, the dunes are in the way if you want to see ocean. 2nd floor we could see ocean.

Great staff, beach view were great.parking was very good.bathroom could stand some work. Great place to stay

The place could definitely use some TLC. The property and grounds were pretty well kept, the room wasn't great though. I think we got the cursed room. This place still uses actual keys (not a key fob, card key, or pin pad like any modern place) and the doors were such a pain to open, constantly got stuck and the doorknob wouldn't turn at all. We got locked out for over a half hour and only when my sister literally body-slammed the door did it budge. The room was pretty musty, carpet was damp, there was a lot of gray dust all over the bathroom floor and the sink/shower had a smell. There was a wrapper of bacon left in the dresser drawer, orange stains on the beds. The fridge wouldn't close all the way so we couldn't use it. Only positives were the pool area, beach access, and front desk staff- they were super nice and helpful. Would not stay again unfortunately.

I love the old charm of this place. This is now my go to when I’m going to Cherry Grove

The hot tub was not hot, the room smelled like dog, property need major updating, the kitchen was poorly equipped.

No, the room wasn't "spotless" it could have used a little more attention. We stayed over a week and not one time could we tell anyone had been in to check nor clean the room. We went out and bought hand towels & the like for our use. I gave you five stars because the staff, when there, was great. Always smiling and helpful about what to find..

The proximity to the beach ⛱️. Parking was good. Cleanliness was lackluster the patio doors need replaced.
-
The location was ideal- even had a great little restaurant

At first glance you realize that this is an aged place with working outdated appliances and amenities. The television had a broken leg that was taped up (I placed a coffee K cup under the leg to level the TV. I loved the proximity to the Beachfront, however my wife would have preferred a higher view of the beach. Breakfast was VERY good and I think was reasonably priced. I would stay there again because the price was right. The staff was warm and friendly, and Parking was pretty good. It’s an older place…and I’m an old soul!

Room was musty, old and needed TLC.

This is an older property that needs some attention. However, the room was clean and the beds comfortable. If you are looking for a reasonable price and basic accommodations, you won't be disappointed

We had a great week here July 2025. Nice that there’s a cafe restaurant in the building in case you don’t feel like leaving for food. Not the most perfect, nice place but… the price reflects that. We came for the beach not to sit in our room, and this is right on the beach. Understand that all of the rentals down here are a constant revolving door with little or no time to clean perfectly or make repairs between guests during the busy season no matter where you stay. Take that into consideration before expecting perfection. This place is awesome and the staff are as well. Have a problem or question and they are on top of it. Ive stayed in much more expensive places in the area, and had issues that went unresolved for our entire stay. They went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our stay here. We will be back for sure.

if you’re looking for a fairly low cost beach hotel then The Blockade Runner will fill that bill but just know that the place is old and has never had any updates to the rooms!!

Very old, run down motel. Sign said it was under new management. Place is in desperate need of repairs. You name it, it needs it. They need automatic doors. Lobby had steps leading to the elevator and no ramp inside which made it difficult to maneuver the luggage cart; you had to go outside all the way to the far side of the building to go up the ramp and all the way back down the hall to get to the elevator. Garbage and old discarded air conditioning units lying around. Small elevator with no AC in them. Our room was muggy when we first went in because some idiot put the thermostat on 60 degrees and froze the unit. Our room was dirty with dust everywhere, shower curtain had pink mildew all over the bottom of it. Someone else’s water bottle was behind the night stand so that right there tells you no one cleaned the room thoroughly. One small trash can in the whole room and it was dirty. Asked for towels, never got them. One small roll of toilet paper for two people for three days…..went out and bought some. Inconvenient and not worth the money paid. We left the room cleaner than when we found it. If I could have gotten a refund I would have left as soon as I walked in the door.
