Hotel Kokusai 21 Nagano

We stayed on the 14th floor. The views from this very comfortable suite were amazing. The bed was good. Staff very helpful. English, for us Americans was appreciated. The shuttle from the train station was much appreciated. Easy walking to many shrines and shopping. It was all good, Breakfast was ok. A buffet similar to other hotels we have stayed at in Japan. Other restaurants were ok too. The Teppanakki requires a reservation, but is lovely.

Wish there was a rooftop Terrence but there's plenty of stuff to do around Nagano City anyway.

Good location. The free shuttle to the station was very punctual & the room was very quiet and spacious. It is dated and in need of maintenance. A toilet in the buffet room malfunctioned & gave me an unwanted shower. Several walls and furniture needed paint & fixing. In the breakfast buffet they had only 2 people to attend all the guests & refill the stations. Food was just ok in comparison with other 8 hotels were we stayed prior to this one.

Rooms were spacious. Being able to open the window was a plus. The room decoration was a bit dated.

The room was very comfortable, well-equipped, and had everything we needed. The on-site coin laundry was extremely convenient, especially when traveling with children. One afternoon, we were stranded in Togakushi with two kids and couldn’t find any taxi back. We contacted the hotel, and the staff went above and beyond to help us find transportation and truly rescued us from a very difficult situation. We were deeply grateful for their kindness and effort. We also had to check out very early in the morning, and the staff were very helpful and accommodating, making the process smooth and stress-free. Overall, the room was cozy, the view was beautiful, and the facilities were complete. The warm and caring service made our stay truly memorable. The food options were somewhat limited, and the menu felt a bit repetitive during our stay. In room 1523, the lighting system was not independent enough, which made it difficult for me to work while the children were already asleep. The laundry area was located quite far from our building, so I had to walk back and forth between buildings several times to switch between washing and drying machines, which was a bit inconvenient.

The staff were excellent. They were helpful, friendly and exceeded our expectations.

It’s a beautiful hotel and the room was quite large, giving us plenty of space. Very quiet. Staff was very friendly. The hardest bed we’ve ever slept on. It was ultra firm, almost like sleeping on the floor. We did not sleep well and were in pain each morning. Also - the breakfast had almost nothing for vegetarian/vegan diners. Only rice and salad. Was very disappointed.

The room was very clean, the location is great in central Negano, nice breakfast. We were very satisfied and I really recommend it. The bed and pillows weren't very comfortable for me. But apart from that, everything was great ?

The only positive aspect of our stay was the shuttle to Nagano station.
