Oriental Hotel Okinawa Resort & Spa

There’s a lot of pools but close together so you can’t really tell there’s different pools. The pool is also warmed so if you like waddling in it, then it’s the best to be in and not feel cold The location is far out from everything. It’s not that relaxing since all it is is the pool. There’s not much else to do. The hotel is also an older establishment. You really need a car to get around. It’s super busy too so it feels crowded. I like other places in Okinawa better.

The location was a little far from the airport which added travel time. We also had to travel somewhat far via taxi to reach a snorkeling expedition.

The eco clean. I thought this should have included providing clean cups without having to ask and also toilet paper, and making the beds but not changing the sheets would have been Good.

The room was spacious and clean. The bathroom was especially spacious with a shower, sink, and bath. We appreciated that we could connect to Netflix during our stay as it was raining on a couple of the days we were there. The breakfast was delicious and there were many options to choose from. We loved being able to swim even on rainy days as the pools were heated. The location was also nice as the surrounding area was quite beautiful. We didn't realize how much of a family-focused hotel this was. Common spaces, including the lobby and dining areas, were often quite busy. While the food served at breakfast was delicious; the space was noisy and crowded with a lot of crying and upset children. Also during our stay a family was placed in the room next to us and made quite a bit of noise. While we were able to speak to staff to notify the room next door about the noise level and they did quiet down a bit, it wasn't quite the experience we were hoping for. We also didn't like that so many things were additional charges, including use of the spa and that breakfast was only included for one of us due to a booking issue. Overall, the stay was nice but it was just a few things that didn't make it great.

The breakfast food was pretty good- but it was always so crowded- i know you can't help it- but the space feels crowded. Also the cleaning staff for the rooms was amazing. The ameninities corner was such a good idea! The bed was extremely firm. The towels at the swimming pool/spa were not high quality. There weren't that many dining options or food choices.

We had a fantastic experience, we arrived early, around 13:45 and pre-checked in with Ido. He was very through with his explanations and made us a reservation for dinner. We went down the child's play area to wait for check in, and it was clean and had a good amount of toys. We came up and we had been upgraded, which was a great and welcomed surprise. Our room was beautiful with a fantastic view of the ocean. I went down and had some cake and sparkling wine while my son had a nap, it was a very calm atmosphere in the lobby lounge. Dinner was the highlight of our evening. We went to buffet and there was such a good variety! Our two year old loved trying new things and ate three inarizushi, loving the brown sugar one. The mini cakes were fabulous to try new things and drink selections were plentiful. The staff were attentive and very kind, interacting with my son and helping us with the high chair. Breakfast was nice, good variety between Western and Asian. Freshly squeezed orange juice was very nice. Overall, a great stay! I didn't like that the shower/bathroom wall was not opaque, it made using the restroom while everyone else slept difficult.

The property was clean and a spacious room. Amenities were closed and the private shows cancelled.

The accommodation and size of the room was good. Yet, there was a sticker shock. Wait for it! The hotel will mislead you, once you arrive to get extra $ out of you! Avoid making any transaction w/hotel. Stay with booking.com! I learned the hard way. I was charged for 1 room on booking.com. Upgraded to another rm, I was shocked to find, I could have paid less-than-half for the upgraded-room TOTAL on booking.com. The hotel truly gouged me! I ended up being charged double! This is painful, they would do this to a guest! They also charge $70 p/p dinner - when concierge said dinner was included.

The hotel is a bit old, but the design, view, location and service make up for it, especially Ido, who was very helpful.

I like the rooms! And they gave us an upgrade! The food. Its was ok. But if were paying much for a lunch and dinner, I think we deserve some steak or crablegs.

Our 3rd timestaying in this hotel. Good value for money and perfect location Would like more frequent ( not 1 in hour) beach shuttle bus service even in low season.

I was so shocked when I first went into the room. It was gorgeous and so big! It overlooked the ocean and the pool. The bathroom was so nice too, I wasn’t expecting it to be such a beautiful room. I was so sad to leave! I think the price of the food was a little expensive for what it was. But the breakfast was fantastic, I got all breakfast included and it was so worth it. Even though you do kind of have to be there at 6.30/7.00 am, otherwise everyone has eaten everything and it’s sold out.

I was very disappointed to find out that we needed to pay for a day pass when we went to use the pool and get towels after we checked out. Had we not had our toddler right there with us ready to go in the pool, we would have left. I understand that may be policy, but I have never encountered that at any other resort we have stayed at. Thankfully, the day pass was not expensive, but unfortunately I left with a sour taste in my mouth after an otherwise lovely stay.

The views and surrounding areas were breathtaking! The staff were all very welcoming and helpful with all our questions and concerns. The pools and spa are top notch as well! Highly recommend!!
