Hotel Yugaf Inn Okinawa

The washing and dryer machines (share paid facilities) were not properly maintained, as they were covered with dust and sand. Although the hotel guests were likely the main cause of the issue, regular housekeeping and maintenance could be improved to ensure the facilities remain clean and in good condition.

We stayed at this hotel for our 25th wedding aniversary. When we arrived at the hotel we were delighted to find that they had provided a room with an ocean view and wonderful gift in the room (see photo). The location was very convenient for this part of Okinawa. We used it to access central and northern Okinawa, the famous aquarium and Kouri Island, both highly recommended. The staff at the hotel were mostly foreigners but English and Japanese skills were fine. They obviously had been well trained in Japanese Omotenashi/hospitality. The Japanese staff were also, of course, amazing. The parking lot was useful and free with the room. There was an amazing okinawan restaurant/izakaya, filled with locals. The food was great and reasonable. The hotel was a little old, but extremely clean and the design of the building was very unique. Nothing to not like, really. The shower's water pressure was enough and in no way poor, but nothing to right home about. The hot water was very hot.

The location was great! Beautiful views and access to the clean uncrowded beach was perfect. Nice to have a Lawson convenience store next door. Buffet was awesome!! Odd musty smell in the room. Air conditioning was kind of weak.

We did not try the breakfast. The location was perfect for our needs.

A free upgrade to an ocean view room due to construction in tower 1 was really exceptional. Amazing view! Amazing staff!

The location and the ample parking space We only got a single physical key for the room and they refused to provide us with a second one. The room and the entire hotel were incredibly damp, so we had to be running aircon on dry as well as a separate dehumidifier. The washing machine and dryer at the facility were horrible.

Quiet, quick walk to nice beach & park area, some restaurants and lawson (small supermarket) around. Clean and room was OK. Staff friendly and helped to organize rental car (although English was a bit of a barrier) Room feels a bit like 70s hospital flair and (typical for Japan) not really spacious for the price. The food options inside the hotel are way overpriced, better get breakfast at a supermarket and dinner at local places around.

Breakfast was value for money. Small Room size and no housekeeping for 2nd day, but they provide new set of towels and replenish bottled water.

I was taken by surprised when the front desk staff told us that there will not be any room cleaning service available if we stay for less than 4 days. Even when this is just a temporary adjustment, as indicated in their laminated notification, I feel that the hotel could have specified this in the booking.com website so that I can decide if I still wish to retain the hotel booking or change to other hotel of my preference. Furthermore, I ought to be given a fair chance to change the hotel before booking.com officially deduct money from my credit card 6 days prior to check in. As the hotel did not notify us in advance, I felt short changed for not getting the full facility of what I paid for. The room is full of our hairs on the 3rd day because they are everywhere, since the room was not vacuumed for 3 days. It affects our mood as a leisure travelling guests.The hotel only provide 1 thin pillow which does not provide enough support. I noticed the non cleaning notification is laminated. If this is a temporary adjustment, why laminate the notification rather than giving out a small slips for subsequent disposal ? The hotel also requested staying guests to put our rubbish outside the door. The steps involved removing the plastic trash from the trash bin, tie up and placed it outside the door and placed the new plastic trash back in the trash bin. We hung our bath towels and hand towels on the door knob which it can't hold so many towels.
