I enjoyed the Breakfast and I like my Room, the bed was comfortable.

The hotel only provides two small bottle of waters which is quiet insufficient for a hot weather in Nairobi. When asked for more they refused to provide the water bottles. The room service doesn't provide any cutlery on request and are exorbitantly charged if you don't order food from the restaurant- which really wasn't an option for me as they don't have decent vegetarian food options. The AC in the room was also not working.

I forgot to close the door and mosquitoes feasted on us.

Need to be upgraded The hotel is very beautiful but needs to be upgraded
-
definitely cleaning needs to improve especially sweeping the floor. The hotel needs to be renovated. Windows doesn't close and washroom needs to be handled.

Every morning, water dripped from the bathtub above into my bathroom. The floor was wet every morning. I alerted the front desk. A plumber came in to help but he said there was nothing he could do when the tenant above me fills their bathtub.

Breakfast was delicious, Room is clean though small, and don't mind about size. Diner also good. NA

Staff is so friendly
-
The staff were particularly helpful in all requests. The room provided good value for money. Breakfast options were good. The hotel facilities needs some investment, particularly in plumbing: the hot water takes quite a while to arrive, the knobs come off and the faucets leak.

Blackout stopped the elevators midday so that the guests had to come down the stairs from high stories. The outlets did not charge the phones so that I asked to change the room immediately but they came to change adopters and cleaning my phones which did not help at all. Finally the reception agreed to change the room to where the room did not smell and more lights were on. Then the key to the former room stopped working and I was stranded at the door for half an hour while they went up and down getting different keys. Old hotels may have some problems but blackout is not bearable.

The staff were amazing - so kind, welcoming, warm - exactly what I have learned to enjoy most about travels in Africa. The restaurant with the pianist from heaven was very good, comfortable and the food was awesome. I arrived very early, quite happy to wait in a coffee lounge for the correct check in time, but the staff were warm and accommodating and even helped me with the correct fitting to charge my devices. They went out of their way. The room was unfortunately stale and musty with quite a moldy smell. It was also extremely noisy at night due to nearby nightclubs and vibrant traffic noise.

Great, central location. Safe and secure. Security and entrance staff werr very friendly. Like others have shared, the decor and facilities are quite dated, though still comfortable. The front desk staff were responsive but quite cold. And the laundry service pricing is exhorbitant. $100 USD for one load of laundry is crazy. It would be half that in the US or Europe with a much higher labor and materials cost.

The rooms were lovely, staff very friendly and helpful. The location was convenient.

The front desk staff, esp Violet, were very friendly and helpful. My concerns about the room (e.g., lack of water pressure in shower) were addressed immediately and even noticed by the person who cleaned the room before I noticed it myself, and he had it fixed right away. Whatever issues there were, they were always addressed with punctuality and friendliness. The free wifi worked very well all the time. The breakfast was excellent and had a great selection of different options, and the serving staff were always friendly and helpful. The convenience of the hotel to the conference at the University of Nairobi across the road was great, and the the location of the hotel was great for getting Ubers and taxis. The hotel has a nice pool, gym, and steam room, which I looked at, but didn't have time to use. The restaurant and bar are nice for dinner. The security people at the front door were always so friendly, and I always looked forward to their smiles upon return to the hotel or in the morning when departing. The suites are lovely and good value for money as you have a separate living room and bedroom. Our conference had to go online for the first day due to protests in the city and we had to be confined to the hotel, so doing the conference online was easy in the living room section of the rooms. The hotel gave us a very nice final banquet at the conclusion of the conference. Be sure to ask for a quiet room if you are a light sleeper as the rooms facing University Way, the main road, can be very noisy with the traffic. I was initially placed on that side, but then had to check out and store my bags when I went on a three-day safari, and made the front desk aware of this, as well as the Guest Relations Manager, who was also helpful. They put me in a room at the back of the hotel for my return check-in with a lovely view of the city of Nairobi, and I slept much better and heard no traffic...I was on a higher floor which also helped. Some of the facilities in the bathroom are a bit outdated and probably need to be upgraded, but everything worked well in the end, and the hotel was very good about fixing things.
