The room we stayed in, is kind of dark and you need to have the light always turned on.

  • Engine customer May 2026

The room was very dark with very small window, which can be open or close by the the big stick. The rooms, which had a balcony can be book only if you choose separate beds, so be careful. If you want have a room with a balcony you should choose a room with separates bed. The stuff was not very nice, just give me a map of City and no suggestions, where to go and what to see. So the experience of this hotel was quite meh

Very friendly staff and very quiet during the night. Also just around the corner from the bus stop if you are coming from Athens.

If you want to feel real Greek hospitality and charm of Nafplio - this is the place!

  • Engine customer Dec 2025

Nafplion is a wonderful destination in Greece, and the Polyxenia Hotel exemplified the best of this city's hospitality. The two sisters Maria and Alexandra who run the hotel went out of their way to make me feel welcome. The central location is perfect, and the breakfast that Maria served is among the best I've had anywhere in Greece! I will be back!

The building is so old,the walls and the floors are wooden you can hear everything from the other rooms I couldn't sleep well

The location was excellent. The room itself was so so. I took two showers and the bathroom flooded twice. I didn't look to see what caused it, very slow or clogged drains could have been the culprit, but I wasn't going to pursue it. I simply waited for the drain to suck the water out then mopped the remainder with the floor towels. Otherwise the AC made a disturbing noise all night and the TV did not have any options so turned it on once. I don't know who rates these places, but it was definitely over rated as a 4. Should have been a 2 or at the most 3.

The owner was super kind to us. As a lifetime residence of Nafplio, she offered us advice of where to go and was very hospitable. Awesome lady and we had a great time.

    location; friendly staff

This hotel has had many bad reviews. I wish I had looked at them more closely before booking. The room was very small. The bed was uncomfortable and shoved against the wall so that it was difficult for the person next to the bed to get out of it. The shower in the bathroom wasn't very clean. The owners insist that the front door must be locked at all times. This is a SAFETY hazard. If there is a fire and you rush downstairs to escape without taking your key, you will not be able to get out. My husband made a comment about this to one of the owners and she became nasty and bad tempered. The second day of our stay the hot water faucet failed to operate. I went downstairs to report the problem and tried to determine when/if a plumber would be called. Instead I received abuse from the owner. She told us the next day someone would be coming but it was too late. We were leaving.

nothing Offensive and unfriendly people. Room extremely small. The decorations are creepy.

We could not have asked for a more perfect introduction to Nafplio! Our hotel hostesses were charming and lovely. The room was spotless, comfortable, and in a perfect location to see the sights and visit local beaches. Breakfast? Generous and delicious! Nothing!

We would have liked a coffee or kettle in the room
