The hotel asked me to communicate through a third-party chat app and said they “only” accept cash or local bank transfer (I guess they do it for avoiding tax or platform process fee purposely) This makes me uncomfortable, as Booking.com warns guests not to share payment or account information by phone, email, or chat apps. They charged my credit card outside of Booking.com and without my authorization. At the same time, they claimed that they did not have the authority to cancel or modify the reservation through Booking.com. However, Booking.com contacted you directly and confirmed to me that they do have the ability to cancel the reservation. This contradiction is extremely concerning. For your safety, you should only communicate through the official Booking.com system and follow the payment terms shown on the Booking.com reservation.

Close to the old alley 老街。New creature comforts, with old school retro amenities and romantic decor. Super comfortable!

Breakfast was good. Checkin process could've been easier.

Complimentary breakfast at the nearby cafe was really nice. There was instant service via WhatsApp although we never saw any staff. Location was good and there was a lot of decor in Instagram style. Their tour driver Mr Lee was very kind and charged reasonable fees for the airport pickup from Taipei. It was quite humid in the room and smelled a little moldy. The toilet was clogged on our last day there. Never saw any staff even though we stayed for 2 nights.

Passable

Everything about the location was great! We took the train from Taipei City to Ruifang and then taxi from Ruifang straight to the property (the fare is standard, so no need to worry about being ripped off!) Good walking distance to Old Street - stairs can be a bit steep for elderly or those with luggage but not impossible. Property only accepts payment in cash so the Booking.com charge is cancelled closer to the date, so remember to bring cash to settle fees. Bathroom is spacious and water pressure satisfactory. The toilet bidet was a dream to have in winter! Important to note the kitchen is equipped with ice machine, water boiler, water purifier, mini fridge, but no microwave (so have your meals at Old Street and buy snacks to have in the room). The property has 3 aircons that are capable of heating/cooling, so it's really perfect for any season. USB charging ports on bedside were also greatly appreciated. Soooooo many light switches (that are unlabelled), so be prepared to take a couple more seconds to try to turn on/off the light that you want.

Very nice villa n bathroom also nice n big. The bedroom also very comfortable n I love it. The place is a little bit difficult to find it and the price little bit high.

newly renovated, good mattresses. Too few mirrors for a group, to get ready. Dust in hard-to-see areas. Because of the shower position, large areas of the bathroom soaked. To drink coffee, we had to grind the beans finely with a manual mill for more than 10 minutes! because the room only has an espresso maker. It was very tiring, so we would like already-finely ground beans or an electric mill or a Nespresso machine.

The breakfast location was a quaint cafe by the side of the cottage. Food served was excellent. Beds were comfortable and overall we had a good sleep. There was no proper cupboard place to hang your jackets/clothes. The location of the cottage was situated at a downslope. To push/carry your luggage up and down a flight of stairs is very challenging especially in the winter where rain and moist makes everywhere a slip hazard.

Location and ambience.

Simply one of the styliest place i have stayed. All the details to create a unique experience were there. The bath in the jungle is unbelievable.

Totally instagrammable, super clean & it’s got everything we need, especially amounts of sockets Hard to find on the map as we are not familiar with mountains. One down side would be 1 washroom/bathroom was quite challenging for 6 guests.
