It’s a 1 star hotel. Staff were nice, though. I ended up canceling my reservation upon arrival due to the lack of cleanliness in the room.
-
The door lock was repeatedly broken and I had to go downstairs to get a new key at least 3 times. At one point 2 men walked into my room.

Hotel Empire's location is perfectly situated near Central Park, Upper West Side restaurants and boutiques, and Lincoln Center. The views up Broadway from the front of the hotel are spectacular. The staff was exceptionally friendly.
-
Valet team and door man great.
-
The staff were all professional. The area is safe and convenient to Lincoln center.
-
The connivence of the Lincoln center is the best location for every in the area.

I only stayed for a few hours overnight, so it was just in and out but overall it’s a great place to stay in the city. Convenient to the University and Alvin Ailey, Easy walk for explorers and close to a lot of restaurants and nightly entertainment. Will be staying there again in a few weeks.

Good stuff

I have stayed at The Empire over the last 9 years. It has always been a welcoming place right fromnthe valet to house keeping. But on this trip the only 5 star is the valet team. Specially Jose. The rest was not a happy experience on my check in my conversation with the front desk was punctuated by them yawning. In the room no hot water the sink was like a tsunami everytime it was turned on. The most disheartening was finding the prior guest underwear in the room

Very convenient

I was given a room on the first floor of the hotel, try to object because I knew it will be very noisy, but the reception worker refused to give me an upper floor,in spite of the fact that I checked in early in the day, 3.15pm and there were still plenty of rooms. Noise from outdoor concert at Lincoln Center continued till midnight

Pool deck/access seemed to be limited...we never made it to the pool but still enjoyed our stay.

Nice hotel in good location but rooms a bit shabby and in need of refresh

Our team stayed at hotel as well. There were soiled panties, from a prior guest that must have been left after checkout not my teams put onto a clean bed that they checked into. It was disgusting. The hotel manager was aware and they were supposed to call us and did not. They have photos and videos. No offers to change bed. My team felt like everything could be dirty and felt uncomfortable. We will never stay again, especially with the lack of help from the hotel manager.

We had a great time! The staff were very professional and friendly. The hotel is conveniently located near Central Park, and the Lincoln Center subway station made it easy to get around the city. My family (2 adults, 2 children, and 1 senior) loved staying here. We will definitely come back in the future!

Cons: Standard room typical Manhattan small, but not extremely so. Bathroom, however is awkwardly small with no counter space or useable shelf for toiletries. Unnecessarily unfriendly security staff. Would certainly stay again if seeing an event at Lincoln Center. What a joy to just cross the street before and after a show. Several good restaurants in the area (e.g. The Smith)

The queen rooms were a bit tight, but that may just be NYC. Solid for the most part

Great location and roof top bar. Staff was so so and I had no hot water. This was not fixed and the lack of attention and concern was disappointing.

When I arrived to check in, he told me that my reservation was for 4 nights. I explained that I had booked and paid for 8 nights through Expedia and even showed him my confirmation receipt. Despite this, he insisted that the booking was only for 4 nights and was very rude and arrogant when I tried to clarify the situation. Later, he claimed that there was another guest with the same name as me, which did not make much sense and only added to the confusion. The whole experience left me feeling that my concerns were not being taken seriously. Given that it was during the World Cup period, I was concerned that there may have been an attempt to resell my room, although I cannot confirm this. Apart from this particular staff member, whom I only saw on the night shift, the rest of the team were excellent and made my stay much more pleasant. I am also disappointed that the deposit taken at the start of my stay has still not been refunded. In addition, an extra $10 was charged, and I have not received a clear explanation for this. Overall, the hotel has some very good staff, but the poor customer service from this front desk employee and the unresolved refund issue significantly affected my experience.
