Location was the best part Cleaning was not their strongest suit, bathroom shower head was full of mold thats what bother us the most.

Very friendly staff. Very accommodating. But the property needs some serious upkeeping. The bedroom walls are marked up with scratches and stains. The rug could use some vacuuming. I had to ask the housekeeper for extra shower gel and soap. When I dialed “0” for assistance no one answered. I had to go downstairs to the reception to ask for an ice bucket. This should’ve been in the room in the first place. When I finally got the ice bucket, the ice machine on my floor was not working. I brought this to the attention of a staff member and he told me to go up or down the stairs to the floor above or below to the ice machine in those floors. The room has a small refrigerator which i highly appreciated but if they have a refrigerator, they should be able to have a small inexpensive microwave in the room. This would go such a long way for the guests in a city where food is so expensive. With that being said the location is awesome. The view from my room was espectacular. And the price was the most reasonable for such a good area. I really liked staying here and look forward to staying here again. They just need to keep up with the small details. As you know, the small details could make the biggest difference.

Location excellent

Beautiful balcony with a stunning view. My room was located right in front of the one World Trade Center building just amazing. Good size room and a great place to start the morning with a coffee. Great staff!

Cons: The room photos are horribly out of date. It’s clear that The Washington doesn’t keep up with the maintenance for their rooms. Like I said, the lobby is immaculate like the photos show but our room was so aesthetically disappointing. Here’s why: 1. The lighting is atrocious. The bathroom lights are dull and one of them was clearly broken beyond a blown bulb. And that fancy LED light strip they show behind the bed was blown out. It only lit up a quarter of the way. 2. The upkeep has clearly been neglected. The cabinets are chipped and there are stains and discoloration on the white cushions of the bay window (I booked the King Deluxe, corner room). There is even severe fraying on the roller shades and some have holes in them. 3. The room is MUSTY. There’s this odd, faint smell that just permeates the room — especially in the closet. It’s not disgusting but it’s not *pleasant*. 4. The wi-fi is awful. My iPhone update said it was going to take 10 hours. Overall, I don’t recommend. Keep your money and go to another 3-star hotel with better maintained rooms.
