About Thompson Central Park New York, by Hyatt
A New York Classic, Remastered. The property offers a combination of suites and rooms with varying views and low floor options. Designed to accommodate work and play, our rooms have been upgraded with refined finishes — warm woods, sleek marble, jewel-toned pops — and unexpected touches, like sculptural ombré lighting, ribbed wall detailing and an inventive geometric étagére. And starting in early 2022, our guests can also expect an elevated New York experience from our Upper Stories collection of rooms and suites perched on our topmost guest floors. Thompson Central Park New York is within 1640 feet of Carnegie Hall, the Museum of Modern Art, Central Park entrance and Radio City Music Hall. Just off the lobby, you’ll find Chef Manish Mehrotra’s signature restaurant, the inventive Indian Accent, which has consistently ranked high in Zagat, Time Out and Eater. And for a quick bite, our incognito Burger Joint outpost has long been a beloved best-kept secret.

We had a great stay at Thompson Central Park! The location was amazing and made it so easy to get around the city. The hotel was very clean, and we loved the amenities. Overall, a beautiful hotel in a great location, we would definitely stay here again!

It was a very nice stay

Enjoyed the location and room. The restaurant was very expensive!
-
Fantastic rooms but sub par guest service and hospitality. Rude/complacent service

I cannot praise this hotel enough. Every staff member we encountered was incredibly helpful from Justin who checked us in to the concierge Stanley. A few minor issues were dealt with efficiently and politely. The spa was great as well.

Wasn’t good thermostat didn’t work for both rooms washroom has no fan so if you shower steams up rooms old just not worth the money do not book

Thompson hotel was a great place to stay. The entire building was very clean and the maintenance staff were extremely friendly. The TV could turn, so that was really cool! The AC fluctuates between different temperatures, so it was kind of funny.

Room was clean and hotel was very nice

Stayed here with my toddler son and everything was great. They provided a crib for us that was very comfy, the mini-fridge in the room was helpful but only for light snacks (didn’t use it for milk as an example), and housekeeping was always so kind and sweet (shout out to Naomi). Great location and enjoyed it for our trip to the big city!

The hotel was very clean and staff was very kind and helpful. They have a restaurant that serves breakfast brunch and dinner cuisine and the taste us amazing. This hotel is a few streets from Central Park and near subways for easy travel. Its within reasonable walking distance to Times Square and Broadway shows. I will definitely stay here again.

I love how big was the room, the location is amazing, clean mostly. The problem I had with this hotel is they took hold of 580$ from my credit card without my permission. They didn’t even ask me if that the card I wanted to use for credit hold. I have other bookings on this card and with that hold it might be declined. So I wanted to explain that to the receptionist and his response was “ well, every hotel must make hold here” I told him I didn’t see that on booking. He literally said “ well you can write that in your review “ I was shocked how rude those employees were, like they really don’t care for what your trip’s plans. So after talking to the manager (yes I had to talk to the manager !) she finally was able to switch the hold to another card and placed the release for the old one, which got back to my account after three business days. So yeah, those carless receptions don’t really care about your comfort here. Another thing was when we arrived no one helped us with our baggages, we had to pull the bags cart and put our six bags on it and took it to the elevator, then the help came. Not because they have a quality service but because they wouldn’t allow customers to take the bags cart with them up to the room. Anyway, the building, location were good, just be careful with the poor/unclear service in the reception.
