Wayfinder Newport

Beautiful hotel and super clean! The staff was very helpful and friendly. We really enjoyed our experience!

The “resort” fee is ridiculous, the parking lot was poorly maintained and had little direction for a one way in/out situation, and the pool area is less than desirable.

The hotel was well maintained and the staff was very friendly and readily available to help in any way. They offer a free shuttle hourly but there is also a bus stop nearby that goes straight to downtown more frequently.

The hotel and restaurant staff were all very friendly and did a great job. The restaurant and coffee bar were very convenient and had solid menu options. The cleanliness wasn't to standard. The wifi was unreliable during work calls, when it was connected it worked well but there were several instances when the signal dropped.

We loved our stay here. The hotel was really cute with spacious rooms. Staff was very helpful. There was a shuttle that ran from hotel to town every hour. We would stay again. Only small complaint was there could be more lighter in the room, but nothing to change my rating. They even had a steamer in the room and great products, soap and cream.

The location of Wayfinder was convenient for us, we had a family member graduating from the Officer Development School on the Navy Base and it was very close by which is one of the main reasons we chose this location. It was also a very convenient location being close to Downtown Newport and the Shuttle was a very nice feature we really liked about the place. Chucky was THE BEST shuttle driver. He was the best staff member we came across during our stay. We really felt welcomed by him, he was very personable and offered us bottled water, snacks and even waited for other passengers who were not yet at the pick up location. Chucky went above and beyond for the passengers and was the most friendly staff member at Wayfinder. We did not like how loud the doors were constantly opening and closing at the end of the hallway right in front our room. The sound of the AC unit, the doors constantly slamming, and the sound of people made it very hard for us to sleep during our stay. The noise from the pool coming straight through our window at 8 am was also something we did not like. I think it would be a lot better with quieter doors at the end of the hallway or no doors at all. We also did not like how long it took for housekeeping to finally clean our rooms. We were there for a week and did not get clean towels until we had called the front desk multiple times and that was multiple days into our trip. When we finally got the towels, they did not clean the room but just gave the towels. The room was not cleaned until the following day and the dirty towels or trash was not taken either. We also had trouble getting responses from staff when we requested or needed something.

Lovely property. Clean and comfortable. Would definitely stay again. Only improvement needed is front desk training. Was not contacted that room was ready like informed I would be. When I checked in I was given the keys. No other information was offered about amenities, where the elevator was, shuttle information, dining offers. Simply given the key and sent on our way. Room was awesome but training about property needs improvement.

Terrible service and awful management here - can't quite believe that in this day and age the customer care but be so bad. The manager gave my room booking to someone else, handled it terribly, spoke down to me. Trust me, don't book this place!

Staff was very friendly! I really enjoyed the shuttle into town every 30 minutes so I didn’t have to pay for parking. The room was very clean and I loved the fact they use local shampoo and conditioner. Our room was towards the back of the hotel and there was no elevator access so we had to carry our bags up and down stairs.

Big rooms, and very pleasant with a little kitchenette and seating area. Lovely friendly staff in reception and the restaurant attached had fantastic food. Easy parking and little good gym. Location was ok, needed to drive or get the shuttle into the town.

Stayed with my family of four , teens 13 and 14 and it was perfect. The staff was wonderful, room was clean and the hotel was beautifully updated . You can tell they put a lot of effort in to the property. The bed comfort level was I’d say mid at a 6/10 comfort level. The hotel smells amazing , I don’t know what scent they are piping through the place, but it gives West#% vibes. We loved the shampoo/lotion/body wash scent and we had to go to Thames Street to stock up on the local soap brand they have in rooms. If you’re an Instagram mom that is looking for a cute , family oriented property this is your place .

Pleasant stay but expected more. Balcony was a waste only view was the parking lot. Pool was crowded and small. Rooms were refreshed but carpet stained and no closet. Beds were comfortable. We skipped the restaurant. Shuttle to town was helpful but not frequent enough. If we went again to Newport would stay closer to town.
