When I booked into the Hotel and collected my keys was casually talking about my plans for the evening.First they were going to take me by their car to the location I was talking about. I was genuinely overwhelmed with this level of generosity and I could tell it came from the heart and was sincere as well.This has been my best experience of a Family Run Hotel anywhere I have ever been. Honestly was there for 4 days and have an other half dozen stories of kindness and compassion from the owners of this Hotel. Nothing to dislike. This question is redundant and not needed. For me this place is perfect but if you have mobility issues it’s stairs only no lift. That’s the only item I can think of that has a tiny mark against the Hotel

Great staff, comfortable bed. Location is down an alley but centrally located. Be aware there is no elevator if you have mobility issues. Very nice linen bedding and effective air con.

I purposely left reviewing this hotel until I had finished my travels in Asia, Australia and South America to see if I found a better hotel. I didn’t. Located in a quite ally just off one of the main streets of Ninh Binh, The Vancouver Hotel is a gem. On arrival David Tuan and Mrs Cherry are welcoming hosts and check in is seamless. It's only when you reach your room that you get a real surprise. The rooms are magnificent, as good as a European 5*. Large and spacious, well lite and airy, extra large double bed and superb en-suite, all very tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. Breakfast is simple but very tasty, Mrs Cherry’s banana or pineapple pancakes are to die for. David organized a tour for me with David Taylor Travel, picked up at the hotel and spent the day in a small group, with a very informative and friendly guide, visiting Brich Dong Pagoda, Hang Mua Cave, Hoa Lu, and the highlight ️ Trang An, by boat. All brilliant. Lunch was very nice and plenty of food for all. Overall, an excellent experience. David also booked my train to Hue and very kindly brought me to the train station the morning I was leaving. The Vancouver Hotel gets 10 out 10. Ninh Binh. The HIGHLIGHT of my stay in Vietnam. Lovely little town, friendly people, a really nice riverside walking street that comes alive at night with loads of food and drink options and a very family friendly atmosphere. The residents are doing a great job of trying to keep the town clean, with loads of bins all over the place. Would love to return.

The cleanliness, location and kind owners. They could not do enough to help us. We had to leave early on the last day so the insisted on packing us up breakfast. Thank you for a lovely stay!

A very clean hotel with a pleasant reception area and a very comfortable bed. They pay attention to the little details (even providing hair conditioner).

We booked very last minute and the hotel facilitated this so well. We had a gorgeous room, very clean and comfortable. The staff are so kind and helpful. Breakfast is delicious!

Dennis and his wife are great host. They will go out of there way to insure that you are comfortable and informed. It was a little hard to find at first, but once located no problem.

Cleanliness of room and friendly owner The owner was friendly and nice, absolutely no issues with him as a person. However, there is a family staying on the low floor and that’s all good. What I didn’t like was there was alot of noise (mostly from a boy). Very loud talking late at night and I couldn’t sleep early then woken up early morning from more noise. I was on 3rd floor. But most importantly, I requested booking a limousine transfer and all was well before I left. Just one big problem. First the driver was driving very very recklessly. We honestly thought we would have an accident. He was super rough and just flying on bumps and everyone in the vehicle was just looking at each other and shaking their heads in disbelieve. Horrendous ride!! Secondly, the limousine suddenly stopped at another location. Much to our shock we were all told to get out of the limo and enter a waiting area in an office. When we got out we were later called, all separately into different vehicles. The one going to the airport was asked to return to the limo and I was put in a very old unattractive car. TOTALLY TERRIBLE BAD CIGARETTES SMELL CAR. In Dubai if you have a car like this, transporting guests in such smell and filth, it is permanently towed! I put the windows down as I couldn’t breathe this awful smell and the driver told me to put the window back up. Awful very smelly old car, definitely not what I paid for!! I paid a limousine, but I was NOT expecting to be transported 40 mins in an old smelly car. Extremely bad experience. I had to stay in this stinky car with my nose blocked with my scarf the whole 40mins way!! Like I said, the owner is a nice person but I recommend he never use this agency again or better yet, not give a transport recommendation! Very bad experience, it totally ruined my day and its unacceptable!
