The breakfast was phenomenal. The owner's wife cooks the breakfast every single morning and its different every time. I personally enjoyed that there was a meal time where everyone was to come down at 8am because the owner would give a weather and snow conditions forecast so you knew what kind of day you were going to have. It was very kind of the owner to go to each and every person to ask if they need any help or any advice planning out their trip. Overall, the owner did a great job of being very personable and helping in any manner he could. For example, giving restaurant recommendations and even calling nearby restaurants to set up reservations which would in some cases even include setting up transportation to the restaurant. Helping shuttle those to various popular areas in the Annupuri region was something that I saw many travelers appreciate, especially during the ski season. Definitely went above and beyond expectations and I look forward to visiting Bistare Kana again.

Great vibes, fridge in the room, lovely breakfast. Yama-san is also great! Unfortunately they didn’t offer dinner in the winter months

The home made breakfast is amazing and we love Yamasan's morning mountain report! The space is immaculate and peaceful. The host is always welcoming and his energy is heartwarming. Nothing

Great Host and lovely place. Highly recommended and will come back. Yama San is really nice and friendly, making superb breakfast, greet us every morning and fill us in with slope news. The place is organized quite well better than most of the lodges I stayed, 4 pairs of guests with 2 toilets and 2 showers on the same floor as the guest rooms. The toilets/showers are always available. The public space is filled with lovely couches and views to the snow. The place is also located super close to the shuttle stop and a hot spring. Parking is available right at the place. The wood burning in the place smells too heavy almost choking on one night(I did love the smell when it was not too much on the other days tho)

1.Amazing staff, Yamasan he is a very warm person and make you feel welcome! Proactive in providing weather and various information if you need. 2.Bistare Kana is close to the Annupuri Entrance bus stop. takes 3~5 min to walk. 3.Provide a delicious breakfast everyday and rooms are clean and comfortable.

The place is an old cosy wooden house. Toilets and showers are shared and in good condition. You can be sure that you can have a good warm shower after a cold day of snowboarding. In winter, the owners heat the place only in the morning and in the evening when people are actually in the house. Everyone leaves during the day, so if you're staying during the day, you'll have to use the gas heater in your room. The house is not very well insulated so it get's cold quickly when the heating is off.

The guest house is close to Annapuri Ski Resort. The owner gives you a lift in the morning and you can catch a shuttle bus back in the afternoon. The food is amazing - great home made breakfast and the Nepalese food for dinner is really delicious. There is no ensuite, however the shared bathroom facilities are clean and well maintained. There is also a washing machine and dryer you can use.

    Very good

Host (Yama-san) was amazing, gave everyone updates on the snow conditions each morning and even drove us to the annupuri chairlift. The breakfast was delicious and different each morning. It felt like a very authentic experience and was excellent value for money. It is a quiet spot but that is exactly what I was hoping for and was made very welcome at all times. Very close to a nice onsen and the shuttle bus which made the location great.

We had an excellent stay at Bistare Kana and are very glad we stayed there instead of one of the much more expensive hotels while we were in Niseko. The owner and his family are very friendly and accommodating, and provide an amazing complementary breakfast every morning at 8:00. The rooms are basic, but there are nice shared amenities available, including a coin operated washer and drier. The bathrooms and showers are nice and very clean, it never felt crowded since there are only 5 or 6 guest rooms in the building. Over all excellent week!

Cute cabin style hotel with a Nepali theme. Excellent breakfast and it’s different everyday. Yama San is very friendly and helpful. Love his morning weather report of the slope condition. We had a car which made it easier to commute around Niseko in general. We used the provided coupon to use the onsen nearby to relax after a full day on the slopes. It’s 800 yen per person for the onsen and if you need a towel, you will need to purchase one on-site or bring your own (not from Kana). Eating around the slopes is typically overpriced and mediocre. We had dinner at the hotel for one night and the Nepali curry (we had one of each meat and the vegetarian option) are all excellent. In case you’re curious, Yama San lists the produce grower’s names on a little white board by the front entrance. Local, fresh, and affordable. Will definitely stay here again.

Breakfast every morning was a treat and something we missed when we ventured on to the next location. His morning snow reports were helpful and entertaining. He even cooked us dinner one night. Make sure you book dinner at the restaurant with him during your stay. The communal space downstairs was so inviting with its wooded views and cozy stove. We hated leaving but got a great big hug before he waved us out of the driveway. The rooms are not luxurious, but after an exhausting day of skiing, Bistare Kana is the perfect home to return to. The location in relation to Annupuri ski resort is fantastic. Yama-san will even drive you to the lodge after breakfast if you ask him. There isn't a lot to walk to in this area, but you're basically right at the bus stop and can go anywhere in Niseko you want from there. We were the only ones staying that had a car and everyone else seemed to get around just fine. If you're looking for a bustling night life and swanky bars, stay in Hirafu. If you're looking for a warm, quiet place to rest your bones after a hard day of skiing, stay at Bistare Kana. Leaving.
