Clean, comfortable bed No fridge as we requested, lift is very slow, we didn’t realise they lock main door after 12 midnight, there was a buzzer or phone number to call, but, no one answered, so, we started to worried as our taxi already gone, night porter are not real able.

The staff were helpful Very dated, not clean! Broken handle in bath, tiles need grouting hallways smelt, still wrote food orders on notepads! Swimming pool dirty and tiles missing. Was not like pictures.

It was close to my business location The shower ran cold and was stuck so hard to move.

Pool (for guests, only). Character. Short drive to beach. Had to walk through front entrance, car park and around to the back of the property to get to the pool at the rear. Parts started to look a little rundown.

The restaurant was beautiful and the food was very tasty. We also enjoyed the outdoor swimming pool. Overall, everything was fine, although the floors needed a more thorough clean and the bathroom fittings were quite tired.

Car park was fine - you had to go through it to get to the outdoor pool Bed was broken - had to sleep in a different room from my Wife and son for the night. Access to the pool was down through the hotel out into the car park, around the back, no.towels there. Shower was scalding hot and unable to turn down - had to call maintenance person in. TV was miniature, room was very hot with no air con.

Faded grandeur and maybe a bit tored in places but a lovely traditional building/decor, amazing wood paneling and lighting, plenty of character. We had a big room (superior twin), clean, comfy beds, plenty of hangers in wardrobe, toiletries. Nice evening food in restaurant (the roast dinner off the Special menu included dessert for £16.95! It was delicious, beef really tender). Fab warm pool and comfy poolside loungers. The rooms were so well soundproofed it felt like no one else was there (no noise from rooms or corridors and it was quite busy). Slept so well. The staff there are great too, they work really hard (not quite enough of them) but they still smile and have banter and warmth. Felt really welcomed. Was extremely hot weather on our stay and our 2nd floor room had a restrictor on window..only opened a couple of inches. There was a fab but it was boiling in there. Asked lady on reception if we could open it and she immediately offered us a room a floor down where windows weren't restricted. So problem instantly resolved! Very thoughtful, super customer service. Will definitely stay again. 2 criticisms... 1...the carpet on the main staircase was noticeably dirty and a bit musty/smelly...needs a good hoover and a shampoo. Makes a really bad impression. I was thinking "oh no" on way up to room. But the landing carpet on our floor was much fresher and our bedroom (and carpet!) was lovely and clean. 2...the pay as you go system in the restaurant and bar really doesn't work! Had to go to bar (in a separate room) to pay for food every time you ordered something in restaurant (so it's a right pain if you've already done that for your starter and main, then decide to add pudding) and had to queue each time because its a manual till and paper docket system so serving every customer is slow. Really inefficient, they must lose a lot of income from people thinking can't be bothered or fed up of queuing..but also don't want t lleave their kids sitting alone in another room etc. It put me off having more drinks tbh. It's so easy these days for waiting on staff to carry a sum-up or even a mobile phone to take payments...Plenty of mobile caterers manage it at festivals etc. So it's hard to understand why they don't make that small investment. Be easier and quicker for staff and customers would spend more. BUT...neither of these things spoiled our enjoyment of staying there. Loved it, will return!

Convenient, good price Pool very shallow, would have been good to know. Bathroom very dated.

Booked a last minute break at a good price for August. The lift and lift carpet didnt give a good reflection of the rest of the hotel
-
The property was in a accessible location however the actual rooms were not as clean as one would expect and the bed and coach needed an upgrade. General maintenance is needed and staff were not as helpful
