⭐☆☆☆☆ I chose this resort to celebrate my birthday, and unfortunately it turned out to be one disappointment after another. Before our arrival, I informed the resort that it was my birthday, and they assured me they would make it special. Nothing happened. We also wanted to upgrade to full board, but every staff member gave us a different answer. One said it wasn’t possible, another said the buffet would cost $20 per person, while someone else told us we had to speak to the manager—who we were told was in Brazil. The lack of communication and consistency was unbelievable. My boyfriend arranged a birthday surprise with the resort for a cake to be delivered to our room at midnight. The staff promised it would be done, but the cake never arrived, completely ruining the surprise. The problems continued throughout our stay. The beach towel cards were misplaced by the staff, yet we had to argue to avoid being charged a $20 penalty for something that wasn’t our fault. We were also charged an extra $30 for late check-out, despite confirming the arrangement both through Booking messages and with a manager at the resort. To make matters worse, someone entered our room without knocking or announcing themselves while we were inside, which was a serious invasion of our privacy. When we requested two shower towels, we were told they couldn’t provide them because “the machine was broken,” which sounded like yet another excuse. At the end of our stay, we spoke to one of the managers, who seemed completely unaware of everything that had happened and showed very little concern. It became clear that this resort has major communication issues and is in desperate need of proper management. The only positive part of our experience was Youssef, who consistently tried to resolve problems, apologized on behalf of the resort, and genuinely cared about helping us. He was the only staff member who made us feel like our concerns mattered.

we had a few issues : 1- when we arrived we were locked inside the room due to a problem on the lock, we called the reception and they took 25 minutes to send someone to open the door 2- we did not have hot water on the first day, when I called the reception they said they would send someone, after 20 minutes I called again and after 30 minutes someone went to the room and said that in 10 minutes we would have the hot water, it took more 20 ..so almost one hour and we had already given up and the 3 of us took cold showers 3- the first night when I went to bed, for my surprise when i lifted the sheet it was coverd in sand, for my luck the bedroom was for 4 and we were 3, so I could go to the other bed. I still gave a good avaliation because I think it was just unfortunate things and overall it is a good hotel, but the staff should be faster in solving problems

Customer handling is so annoying. My door was knocked 2x mistakenly by room service. Waking us up. Poor communication among each other.

Beautiful beach and the surroundings/landscape of the hotel, spacious rooms, good facilities, friendly staff, good food. A very special mentioned goes to Betty, who made our room so special every day. The rooms are very bland, there is no character to them at all, which was very disappointing given the price. The sunbeds could benefit from the upgrade.

Overall, we had a pleasant stay, but I would describe this property as okay to good, rather than exceptional, especially considering the price point and strong online reviews. Our first impression was mixed, as the hotel sign appeared to be under repair at the time of arrival. While we were welcomed with a drink and assisted by a very kind and professional receptionist, the reception area itself did not feel particularly inviting. Some furnishings, including the seating, are clearly worn and could benefit from upgrading. The property layout is quaint and warm, with beautiful greenery throughout. The two pools are enjoyable, and the beach area is a definite highlight. These outdoor spaces were among the more positive aspects of our stay. The rooms were generally clean but felt fairly standard for the price. Several maintenance and renovation issues stood out: the bathroom shower handle showed signs of rust, the bed nets had holes, the curtains did not hang properly, and we experienced issues with the AC remote. The sheets and towels were also quite scratchy, which affected overall comfort. Individually, these are small issues, but together they suggest the property would benefit from more consistent care and thoughtful upgrades. With better attention to room maintenance, furnishings, and guest comfort—particularly in the bathrooms and sleeping areas—this property could better align with its pricing and the expectations set by its reviews. The setting itself is lovely, and with improved upkeep and renovations, this could be a much stronger offering. The room was generally clean but felt very basic for the price. Several details affected comfort, including thin toilet paper, scratchy sheets and towels, bed nets with holes, and curtains that did not hang properly. The bathroom showed signs of wear, such as a rusted shower handle, and we also experienced issues with the AC remote. None of these issues were major on their own, but together they impacted the overall experience and value.

The highlight of the hotel is its exceptional location on one of Zanzibar’s most beautiful beaches. The new beachfront restaurant is far more convenient and enjoyable than the previous one near the reception. It also offers the pleasure of having breakfast with a beautiful sea view Some rooms are in clear need of renovation, and the bed linen should be replaced. Overall, the hotel feels somewhat outdated. In addition, some of the beach towels are not in good condition.

Didn’t like much about this hotel besides the looks, we stayed at 3 other hotels on other parts of the island and all of them were just as nice while being less tacky/touristy and way cheaper. I wouldn’t bother with this hotel again or this area of the island. The beach was way too small for how many people were staying at this hotel, everyone was on top of each other at high tide. Save your money and get some more peace and quiet by going to the southeast side of the island. The front desk staff was unbelievably incompetent. There was an issue with their software and they recognized that we had a reservation but the payment hadn’t gone thru yet (this was their fault, not ours). We offered to pay cash instead, we offered to let them hold our passports hostage until the payment went through, we offered all kinds of fair solutions but they wouldn’t let us check in and didn’t seem to give a single solitary eff that they were inconveniencing us. We weren’t able to check in for four hours and they didn’t some even give us a free drink for the trouble. They spoke to the manager on the phone (who was not on location at around 7:30 at night, which seems incredibly irresponsible for a resort that large that hosts that many guests). We asked to speak to the manager (Cristiano) on the phone and they wouldn’t let us. We later met the manager by coincidence after we checked out and he said he’d heard of our trouble and apologized for it and offered us a free night if we ever wanted to stay again, but he had made no effort whatsoever to contact us (he had our phone number) or find us (obviously he knew what room we were in) while we were at the resort to apologize or offer any compensation. It turns out the entire time (according to him) he had been telling the front desk staff to let us check in anyway and they misunderstood him. He also looked very surprised when I told him the front desk staff told us it wasn’t allowed for us to speak to him on the phone.

The generators of the whole Nungwi are not strong enough for the whole power surge in the night when everyone is in their rooms with ac and lights on and the door has some gaps and the light in the toilet was a bit dark and not much lights in the room but all was very nice besides this.

Wifi very unreliable. Noisy nights, live entertainment, close to the beach.

The hotel and its facilities are amazing — the pools, the beach, the food, everything is wonderful. Here’s the translation: The rooms are relatively large, but outside our room there were hundreds of mosquitoes. The staff sprayed all day, and we had to stay with the smell of insecticide. Besides that, there was a slight musty smell in the room.

The location is absolutely beautiful, with a stunning beach and a peaceful atmosphere that made the whole experience incredibly relaxing. I loved that it was never too crowded, it felt like a private escape. The food was truly delicious, every meal was fresh and full of flavor. The staff was very friendly and warm. I genuinely enjoyed my stay and would happily return. Highly recommended!

The private beach was great! The 3 pools are a lot of fun and we got upgraded to the Villa’s due to a high price discrepancy (paid- Non refundable 30 days ahead of time when the price dropped a large amount) The Wifi needs a major upgrade. This is probably the biggest complaint of them all. Our AC made a lot of noise (humming noise) and the shower flooded every day. This was not great. I would suggest the property needs some maintenance.

Welcoming and very helpful staff, amazing location, clean environment, tasty food, amazing beach and ocean is so clean. The rooms are so cozy! It’s very hard to go to swim to the ocean or stay at the beach when everyone tries to speak to you and sell something even if you ask them to leave you alone. We appreciate the culture however it was very annoying.
