Very secure property with some nice touches and it’s a very spacious one bedroom on the bottom floor. The neighborhood has some hidden gems for eating and enjoying great coffee. They had some problems with getting it cleaned properly before my arrival but it worked out.

I stayed a night but heard some guessts were there for more time and it seems it suits perfect people traveling for any purpose. Shared spaces were clean, quiet, decorations and amenities were perfect.

Area really near the centro of Oaxaca Nice kitchen Toilet got broken and I ran out of hot water in the shower

The room - like on the photos but what you can't see is there is big whole around the door and you can hear every single thing a neighbour is doing. The winow to the street - all cars, all dogs, the noise like in your room.

The space was nice. The sinks were horribly dirty, like I have never seen before. I told the staff and they came twice to “clean” it, but never did.

Good communication, clean, comfy, near downtown. Everything is good.

The shower. It's set in the middle of the small bathroom between the toilet and the sink right at the door. And, the window curtains didn't close all the way. The curtain rod was too short, it didnt extend far enough from the side of the window.

The owners/staff were exceptional. After a very long day and night of travel, they provided me with a bed hours before checking time while they prepared my room. They cleaned the common spaces every day, recommended some good local restaurants and addressed the one problem I encountered immediately. I visit Oaxaca frequently and I will definitely return to Casa Gecko. There is absolutely nothing to complain about.

Dania was the best, she maid my stay in Oaxaca really easy and fun. The place is nice and clean. Recommended and I will stay again if I come back. It’s a little bit far from the center.

My only suggestion is to make the roof top more comfortable by adding a seating area!

The Host and her father were very good people and helped in anyway with a cheerful demeanor. I can't think of anything.

- Our check-in with Alejandro was great, he was very helpful and kind. - It was in a safe, quiet, walkable area, not too far from the main part of town if you're in decent shape and like walking. - The room was small but comfortable. - They had a large bottle of drinking water available. - The parking was secure for our vehicle, (although there is only one spot, and needs to be reserved in advance). - If you don't have any pets or vehicles and like ice baths, then the pricing is reasonable. - The fees for the pets were expensive, 150 pesos per pet is too much. I understand it as a deposit, because there are some irresponsible pet owners who ruin it for the rest of us, but charging that much to sweep up a little bit of hair is ridiculous. It was in the fine fine print at the very bottom; on the main booking page it stated "charges may apply," which to me implies a deposit, or if they damage anything, there is a charge. The dogs could have had their own room for that much, but we didn't have any other options that accepted pets and included parking. We were also charged 150 pesos to park our car, which was NOT disclosed until after we had reserved the room and were on our way to the hotel and received a message. After all the fees were added, it almost doubled the price of our stay there, making it not worth the value we paid. - The water in the shower was ice cold. We don't need hot showers, but this was extremely cold. And the shower makes the whole bathroom wet, so a bathmat would have been nice. - The parking space, while secure, was very tight for our SUV. If you have a large vehicle, it will be a tight fit. - There is also no sign for the place, so you have to pay attention to the address and look for the black gate.
